JOB TITLE: Accounting Specialist

EMPLOYER: D. C. Taylor Co.

DEPARTMENT: Accounting/Payroll

REPORTS TO: VP and Controller

EFFECTIVE DATE: 10/01/2025

SUMMARY:

As an Accounting Specialist you will play a vital role in supporting the financial operations of D. C. Taylor Co. The primary focus of the Accounting Specialist will be payroll processing and general accounting duties. The Accounting Specialist is responsible for ensuring accuracy and timeliness across multiple financial functions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Payroll Support: Assist with payroll processing, reporting, and compliance.
  • Accounts Payable: Process vendor invoices, manage payment schedules, and maintain accurate records.
  • Accounts Receivable: Record payments and research outstanding balances.
  • Reconciliations: Perform regular account reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Audit Assistance: Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries.
  • Research: Investigate discrepancies, analyze financial data, and provide insights to support decision-making.
  • Special Projects: Participate in cross-functional initiatives and financial projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. In lieu of a degree, 2+ years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles.
  • Experience supporting payroll processes.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Office-based role with standard working hours between 7am-5pm.
  • Occasional overtime may be required during peak periods.
