As our firm continues to grow, we are expanding and strengthening our tax department to support the evolving needs of our clients. The Opportunity This is a unique opportunity to step into a Director-level leadership role where you will have meaningful influence over how the firm’s tax department continues to evolve. Rather than inheriting a rigid structure, you will work alongside firm leadership to further develop processes, mentor tax professionals, and help shape the future direction of the tax practice. You will lead a talented team, advise sophisticated clients, and play a key role in delivering high-quality tax services within a niche-focused CPA firm. This position is fully remote. Key Responsibilities ● Lead, mentor, and develop a team of tax professionals ● Establish and maintain quality standards for tax preparation, review, and documentation ● Oversee complex individual, partnership, and corporate tax returns ● Provide strategic tax planning and advisory guidance to clients ● Build and refine workflows, processes, and documentation standards for the tax department ● Collaborate with firm leadership on departmental strategy and operational improvements ● Maintain and grow relationships with key clients Qualifications ● Active CPA license ● 10+ years of tax experience, including leadership responsibilities ● Strong technical knowledge of individual, partnership, and corporate taxation ● Experience working in a public accounting environment ● Excellent communication and relationship management skills ● Demonstrated ability to lead teams and oversee complex engagements ● An interest in helping build and develop a growing tax department Benefits Highlights ● Medical insurance through BlueCross BlueShield (two plan options, including an HSA plan with employer contribution) ● Dental and vision coverage — employee-only dental and vision are fully employer-paid ● Employer-paid life insurance (3x salary up to $400,000) ● Short-term disability, long-term disability, accident, and critical illness coverage ● 401(k) with 3% Safe Harbor employer contribution regardless of employee contribution (eligible after 1 year) ● PTO starting at 16 days per year, increasing with tenure, plus 8 paid holidays ● 8 hours of Volunteer PTO ● $75/month internet allowance and Starlink hardware reimbursement (if eligible) ● Employer-paid weekly personal training session and workout class ● Continuing education reimbursement Travel Expectations This role is primarily remote but does involve occasional travel, particularly during the first several months for leadership onboarding and team integration.
