About This Position
Core Requirements:
Driver's License: Prefer candidates with Class A driver's license with no automatic or manual restrictions. Candidates with a strong and stable work history with a manual restriction are encouraged to apply.
Must be able to pass a D.O.T. Physical and Drug Screen
Experience: Minimum of six months operating a tractor‑trailer pulling 45 - 53-foot trailers. and a good driving record.
Must have open availability.
Must be willing to work both day and night shifts, weekends, holidays, scheduled and forced overtime. Overtime paid after 40 hours per week.
Shift assignments are determined through an annual bid process. Bids typically cover a four‑day work week
Some bid schedules may require working a shift, taking a 10‑hour rest period, and returning for a subsequent shift.
The Transport driver shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Drives truck over established route to deliver unload and account for products of the dairy industry to customer's place of business and distribution points.
Records transactions and prepares paperwork. Maintains proper logs and other information as required by the Company and D. O. T. Listens to and resolves service complaints.
He or she will be required to climb, crawl, and walk in an upright as well as a bent position to facilitate the following: Load and unload product at destination. Collect or pick up empty containers or rejected or unsold merchandise. The transportation driver will have to stack and unstack items weighing 50 pounds from a height of approximately seven feet to the ground and back continually as well as drag stacks of milk weighing approximately 240 pounds throughout the shift. May be required to move, load, and unload wheeled racks of milk weighing approximately 850 pounds. Load and unload truck and carry merchandise. He or she will be required to work in very hot (100+ degrees and very cool (less than 32 degrees) environments throughout the year. He or she will also be required to work outside, in whatever the conditions are, most of the time. The successful candidate must keep the inside of truck clean. Perform routine maintenance on truck. Work and Drive in a safe, courteous and efficient manner.
