Position Overview

The HR Generalist plays a critical role in supporting the organization’s workforce through full-cycle HR operations, employee relations, compliance, and systems management. This position requires a high level of professionalism, sound judgment, and the ability to navigate complex situations with objectivity and consistency.

This role is ideal for someone who is confident in managing employee relations, comfortable having difficult conversations, and committed to ensuring policies and practices are applied fairly and consistently.

Key ResponsibilitiesOnboarding & HR Operations
  • Coordinate and execute full-cycle onboarding, including new hire paperwork, system setup, and orientation
  • Conduct virtual onboarding sessions and ensure timely completion of required trainings
  • Manage HR systems (Gusto, Connecteam), including employee setup, data accuracy, and reporting
  • Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring compliance and documentation accuracy
Employee Relations & Performance Management
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee relations matters
  • Provide guidance to managers on performance management, coaching, and corrective action
  • Draft and support implementation of disciplinary actions and Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs)
  • Address workplace concerns with professionalism, objectivity, and consistency
Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and organizational policies
  • Conduct internal investigations and document findings
  • Manage ADA interactive process and accommodation requests
  • Support unemployment claims, hearings, and appeals
  • Assist in drafting responses to regulatory agencies (e.g., EEOC)
Benefits & HR Administration
  • Support benefits administration, including employee enrollment and vendor coordination
  • Assist with evaluating benefits options and obtaining vendor quotes
  • Maintain accurate personnel records and ensure audit readiness
Training & Organizational Support
  • Coordinate and deliver HR-related trainings for staff and leadership
  • Support leadership in staff development, workforce planning, and retention strategies
  • Contribute to employee engagement and culture-building initiatives
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of progressive HR experience, including employee relations and compliance
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
  • Experience with HRIS and workforce management systems (Gusto, Connecteam, or similar preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
