Maintenance Technician - Facilities at City of Oak Ridge TN – Oak Ridge, Tennessee

POSITION SUMMARY:This position performs manual and semi-skilled work in the maintenance, repair and rehabilitation of buildings, grounds, and other assignments as needed in department operations.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Assists Plumber in the maintenance and repair of the City’s plumbing fixtures, sprinkler systems, water fountains, and swimming pool equipment.
• Assists HVAC Technician in the maintenance and repair of the City’s heating and air conditioning systems including HVAC units, boilers, chillers, air compressors, electrical and pneumatic controls, and hot water heaters.
• Assist the Facilities Maintenance Specialist in the maintenance and repair of the City’s buildings including painting, general carpentry, flooring, renovations, moving furniture, drywall, and roof repair.
• Assist Signs Specialist in fixing and making signs.
• Assist in the construction of new cabinets, bookshelves, desks, fences, steps, and small buildings.
• Assists with snow removal operations.
• Maintains equipment in clean and operating manner.
• Reports to work for on-call after-hours needs, as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma/equivalent.
• Previous experience in HVAC, Signs and Markings, Plumbing, or Facilities Maintenance preferred.
• Possession of a valid State of Tennessee Driver’s License.
