About the Role:
  • Assist providers with efficient patient flow while maintaining high standards of care, perform a variety of general patient care responsibilities to include but not limited to: measuring/recording vital signs, collecting specimens, administering injections, fingerstick for glucose and A1C for diabetic patients, glucose tolerance tests, downloading glucometers, EKG. patient education and assisting with thyroid biopsies. Returns calls to patients in a timely manner, making sure to document and update all information in the patient chart. Scanning and attaching documents as required in a timely manner.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collecting, reporting and documentation of data
  • Setting up exam or procedure rooms, cleaning and sterilization of instruments
  • Performs limited diagnostic testing to include but not limited to EKG, phlebotomy and laboratory testing
  • Relays prescription information to pharmacies as directed by the Physician
  • Performs selected clerical duties including but not limited to: physician scheduling, answering and directing telephone calls to appropriate parties, maintaining medical records in patient charts, filing patient charts,
  • Provides basic materials management including by not limited to: stocking of exam and procedure rooms, identifying, labeling and reporting of malfunctioning equipment, as well as inventory management of medical and office supplies.
  • Provides basic housekeeping duties including but not limited to: maintaining a clean, safe and orderly environment, as well as cleaning any biohazard spills according to the EOC guidelines.
  • Attends staff meetings and educational offerings in order to stay abreast of current information.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: HS Diploma/GED preferred
  • Experience: Prior Medical Assistant experience
  • Licensure/Certifications: American Heart Association Basic Life Support CPR
  • Must travel to Westminster office, 193 Stoner Avenue, Westminster MD 21157 on Wednesdays
