About This Position
The Tank Operator is responsible for operating textile dyeing machines (“tanks”) to process fabric according to production specifications, dye recipes, and quality standards. This role ensures proper loading, cycle control, temperature regulation, and monitoring of dyeing operations to achieve accurate color and fabric quality while maintaining safety and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload fabric into dye tanks using hoists or lift equipment.
- Follow dyeing recipes and production orders precisely.
- Monitor machine parameters including temperature, pressure, water levels, and cycle times.
- Monitor dye cycles to ensure proper color development and fabric movement.
- Take samples for lab approval when required.
- Record production data including lot numbers, processing times, and any deviations.
- Inspect fabric after dyeing for shade consistency and defects.
- Perform minor troubleshooting and report mechanical issues to maintenance.
- Maintain cleanliness of tanks and surrounding work areas.
- Follow all safety and environmental procedures related to chemical handling and high-temperature equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in textile dyeing or industrial machine operation preferred.
- Basic understanding of dyeing processes and color matching.
- Basic math and recordkeeping skills.
- Mechanical aptitude.

Physical & Working Conditions

- Shift work, weekends, and overtime may be required
Safety Requirements
- Use of PPE (gloves, eye protection, heat-resistant gear, safety shoes)
- Compliance with plant safety policies and lockout/tagout procedures
