About Us: Ice Air is a manufacturer of innovative HVAC solutions serving the North America market. We are dedicated to providing reliable, quality, energy-efficient equipment for all new construction, replacement and retrofit projects.
Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated Quality Control Engineer / Specialist to support the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of our HVAC products and manufacturing processes. This role will focus on identifying quality issues, performing structured root cause analysis, improving internal processes, and strengthening feedback loops between manufacturing, engineering, service, and customers.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a manufacturing or service-oriented environment and will be comfortable analyzing technical problems, communicating with cross-functional teams, and driving corrective actions that prevent recurring issues. This individual will play an important role in helping build more robust systems and improving the overall customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations into internal quality issues, field failures, and customer complaints.
- Utilize structured problem-solving tools such as 8D, 5-Why analysis, Fishbone diagrams, Pareto analysis, and FMEA to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Analyze service trends, warranty data, and field performance information to identify recurring issues and improvement opportunities.
- Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and service teams to strengthen system reliability and help “bullet-proof” HVAC equipment performance in the field.
- Develop and maintain quality control processes, inspection standards, and documentation to ensure consistent production quality.
- Partner with manufacturing teams to identify process weaknesses and implement improvements that reduce defects and variability.
- Monitor quality performance indicators including defect rates, warranty trends, service call data, and customer feedback.
- Support containment activities and corrective action implementation when quality issues arise.
- Communicate clearly with both technical teams and leadership, ensuring issues and solutions are understood across the organization.
- Assist with customer communication when necessary to explain findings, corrective actions, and improvement plans.
- Support new product introductions by validating quality processes and production readiness.
- Help drive a culture focused on continuous improvement, accountability, and proactive quality management.
What We Offer:
- Competitive salary, bonus, and benefits package.
- Significant long-term growth opportunity.
- Collaborative and supportive work environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Quality Engineering, or related technical field preferred.
- 2–4 years of experience in quality engineering, manufacturing, service engineering, or related technical roles.
- Hands-on experience performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills with the ability to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Ability to work effectively across multiple departments including operations, engineering, service, and leadership teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with standard business tools including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with HVAC systems, refrigeration systems, or electro-mechanical assemblies strongly preferred.
- Experience working with service teams or customer feedback loops is a plus.
- Experience with HVAC equipment such as PTAC units, packaged systems, or commercial HVAC products.
- Familiarity with manufacturing quality systems, continuous improvement methodologies, or Lean/Six Sigma environments.
- Experience performing failure analysis or reliability investigations.
- Ability to help build structured processes that prevent issues rather than simply reacting to them.
Personal Attributes
- Strong problem-solver with a curiosity for understanding technical failures.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to influence teams and drive improvements.
- Focused on building durable systems, strong processes, and long-term quality improvements.
