Operator in Columbus & Surrounding Areas, Ohio at Geotex Construction Services Inc

General Responsibilities

• Successfully operate a range of earthwork and utility equipment, including:
• Track hoes & Backhoes
• Track Loaders & Wheel Loaders
• Bulk and Finish Grade Dozer (with or without GPS guidance)
• Scrapers and Off-Road Dump Trucks
• Compactors (pad foot and smooth drum)
• Other Misc. Equipment (water trucks, skid steers, tractors)
• Daily inspection of equipment for damages or safety issues
• Maintain and clean operator station and tracks on daily basis.
• Prestart oil/fluid level checks and monitoring of temp/pressure gauges throughout shift. Report any defects to foreman and/or maintenance dept.
• Ensure safe working conditions are maintained and follow safe operating procedures as outlined by operation manual and supervisor
• Perform other tasks as directed by site foreman.

Qualifications

• Reliable transportation to/from various job sites around the Columbus area
• Knowledge of safe operating procedures of various types of equipment
• Knowledge of layout staking, grades, and benchmarks
• Ability to maintain a high level of awareness and operate in a safe manner at all times
• Ability to retain and apply information and instructions provided by the site foreman
• OSHA 10 Hour and knowledge of safe working procedures in sitework and trenching applications
