Description:

Ascentec Engineering is hiring a Planner Scheduler II for our Tualatin headquarters! This advanced scheduling role will be responsible for managing complex production schedules, resolving scheduling conflicts, analyzing capacity constraints, and supporting cross-area and/or cross-site schedule alignment.

This position is onsite (not remote/not hybrid) and is not eligible for Visa sponsorship or transfer of Visa sponsorship. Periodic travel to our Dallas, Oregon facility.

Requirements:

Advanced Schedule Management:

  • Manage complex daily, weekly, and mid-range production schedules for assigned areas
  • Balance due dates, capacity, material availability, operational constraints, quality, and customer priorities
  • Recommend sequencing tradeoffs and recovery actions when demand exceeds capacity or disruptions occur
  • Maintain schedule stability while enabling controlled priority-driven changes

Capacity and Constraint Analysis:

  • Analyze work center capacity, resource loading, utilization, and constraint areas using Planet Together APS, Epicor Kinetic, and supporting reports
  • Validate schedule feasibility against machine, labor, shift, and operational constraints
  • Partner with production leadership to confirm actual capacity and execution assumptions
  • Recommend and escalate corrective actions with clear customer and output impact

Schedule System Governance and Data Integrity:

  • Ensure schedule data integrity in Planet Together APS and Epicor Kinetic for assigned areas
  • Review job dates, priorities, operation dates, resource assignments, scheduling attributes, and dispatch logic for accuracy
  • Identify system data issues that create inaccurate schedule output and coordinate corrections
  • Support schedule data audits, standard work, and system configuration improvements
  • Help train others on scheduling process, system usage, and schedule update standards

Risk Management and Recovery Planning:

  • Identify schedule risks related to material shortages, quality holds, engineering changes, equipment downtime, labor availability, or customer priority shifts
  • Develop and communicate recovery plans for late or at-risk jobs
  • Coordinate with planning, purchasing, production, quality, engineering, and customer-facing teams to remove blockers
  • Lead or support schedule conflict resolution meetings for assigned areas
  • Escalate unresolved risks with recommended decision options

Cross-Functional Leadership:

  • Serve as a senior scheduling point of contact for assigned product lines, customers, or manufacturing areas
  • Support daily and weekly production alignment meetings with schedule status, risks, and recovery actions
  • Partner with Master Scheduler on schedule strategy, capacity analysis, and priority alignment
  • Mentor Scheduler I and planning roles on scheduling logic, system usage, and escalation discipline
  • Support customer expedite and delivery risk discussions by providing credible schedule analysis

Reporting and Continuous Improvement:

  • Develop or maintain schedule performance reporting including schedule adherence, past-due backlog, capacity loading, and at-risk jobs
  • Identify recurring causes of schedule disruption and recommend corrective actions
  • Support improvements to Planet Together APS, Epicor Kinetic, dispatch reporting, and schedule governance
  • Document scheduling standards and help reduce tribal knowledge dependency
  • Demonstrate readiness for Master Scheduler by managing schedule strategy, cross-functional tradeoffs, and broader capacity decisions

Qualifications & Experience:

Required:

  • 5 or more years of production scheduling, planning, production control, or manufacturing operations experience
  • Strong understanding of finite scheduling, MRP/MPS logic, capacity planning, production flow, and schedule tradeoffs
  • Experience working with ERP and scheduling systems to manage jobs, priorities, resources, and production dates
  • Ability to analyze capacity constraints and recommend schedule recovery actions
  • Strong communication skills with production, leadership, and cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, production reporting, and schedule analysis

Preferred:

  • Experience with Epicor Kinetic
  • Experience with Planet Together APS or equivalent advanced planning and scheduling software
  • Experience in aerospace, semiconductor, precision machining, or contract manufacturing
  • Experience in high-mix, low-to-mid-volume production environments
  • Experience supporting cross-site scheduling or complex customer demand changes
  • APICS/ASCM certification or coursework

Compensation/Benefits:

  • $80,000 to $95,000 DOE
