POSITION SUMMARY:

AI Web Developer must be highly capable to design and scale intelligent, user-focused web applications. This role blends modern web engineering with advanced AI integration, offering the opportunity to build impactful, forward-looking solutions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Design, develop, and maintain AI-powered web applications
2. Integrate machine learning models, OCR, image recognition, and AI APIs into web platforms
3. Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and security
4. Troubleshoot issues with software from multiple different technology stacks
5. Maintain clear documentation and high code quality standards
6. Refactor a widely used, legacy web system and database structure to a AI friendly and modern technology stack
7. Stay current with emerging AI tools, frameworks, and best practices

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field (advanced degree preferred)
2. Strong experience with web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, Razor Pages)
3. Strong experience with prompt engineering to achieve desirable results from AI tools
4. Strong experience with modern database systems (MariaDB/MySQL)
5. Proficiency with designing and integrating APIs and backend systems
6. Proficiency with Git version control
7. Experience with testing, debugging, and maintaining code quality
8. Experience using OCR, AR, image recognition and comparable technologies
9. Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code
10. Experience using cloud hosting platforms (AWS, Azure, cPanel, or similar)
11. Experience using WooCommerce, Shopify or similar eCommerce suite
12. Experience using limited documentation to refactor large code bases
13. Demonstratable ability to accept a list of requirements, develop a realistic plan for realization and implement it successfully with minimal guidance.
14. Strong understanding of AI/ML/LLM concepts, frameworks, limitations, security concerns and practical applications.

DESIRABLE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

1. Experience with MRP systems such as Infor SyteLine (CSI).
2. Experience designing and implementing unit tests
3. Knowledge of core software engineering principles (DRY, KISS, YAGNI, SOLID, SoC, Encapsulation)
4. Knowledge of common software vulnerabilities in user facing software and understanding on how to avoid them.
5. Willing to continuously create documentation + inline comments in any source files generated.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
7. Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
8. Experience in optimizing software using efficient algorithms and data structures (hashmaps, dictionaries, etc.)
9. Experience with hobby radio control products such as RC cars, controllers, etc.
10. Experience building applications in C#, C++, or C that interface directly with hardware for testing, control, or validation of electrical components.
