About This Position

Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

POSITION PURPOSE
The Registered Nurse (RN) position is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients in a friendly and supportive environment. Our hospital prides itself on delivering personalized care to our community; an employee in this position should share in our commitment to excellence and patient-centered service.
MINIMUM MANDATORY qualifications
Experience:
  • New graduate OR minimum two (2) years of experience.
  • Associate’s Degree or Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
Mandatory Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Qualifications:
  • Current and valid nursing license in the State of New Mexico or compact state.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills; excellent communication, interpersonal abilities and proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Adherence to Holy Cross Medical Center policies surrounding patient safety, infection control and HIPAA.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in dealing with a variety of individuals.
  • Compassionate, patient-focused and adaptable to the dynamic needs of a rural healthcare setting.
  • A record of satisfactory performance in all prior and current employment as evidenced by positive employment references from previous and current employers.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are required within sixty (60) days of hire.
