Bishop Gadsden, Charleston’s premier continuing care retirement community, is seeking an experienced, hands on, mission-driven Assistant Administrator to support the Vice President of Health Services in leading our licensed healthcare operations.

Keep reading.....Why This Role MattersAs Assistant Administrator, you will play a critical role in ensuring high-quality resident care, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence across all healthcare services. You’ll be a visible leader, trusted problem-solver, and advocate for resident safety and satisfaction—while building clinical and operational depth across departments.
Key Responsibilities- Support the planning, coordination, and day-to-day operations of all licensed healthcare services
- Assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
- Conduct daily clinical rounds to promote adherence to quality and safety standards
- Serve as a resource for residents, families, and team members—addressing concerns with professionalism and empathy
- Provide direct leadership and supervision to Healthcare Social Services
- Collaborate with department leaders to resolve challenges and enhance service delivery
- Review and follow up on incident reports, grievances, adverse events, and regulatory citations (SC DPH)
- Lead and support Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives
- Promote a culture of safety for residents and staff
- Participate in cross-departmental training to build operational and organizational expertise
- Maintain strong knowledge of healthcare laws, regulations, and long-term care best practices
- Participate in an on-call leadership rotation (evenings/weekends as needed)
If this sounds like you, we need you to have:
- Licensed Nursing Home Administrator in South Carolina (or willingness to obtain licensure)
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
- 3-5 proven experience within a skilled nursing community preferred
- Strong working knowledge of state and federal long-term care regulations
- Proven leadership, accountability, and professionalism
- Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds
