Position Summary
This role is responsible for supporting the integrity and efficiency of the PUPCO supply chain by maintaining accurate procurement data, coordinating with internal teams and external suppliers, and assisting in the execution of sourcing and logistics activities. The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective cross-functional communication to ensure supply chain continuity and support business operations.
Responsibilities
- Proactively identifying cost-saving opportunities across product and inbound logistics
- Assess and evaluate suppliers both domestically and internationally, scoring vendor performance based on quality, delivery performance, reliability of supply, pricing, and product support
- Monitor and mitigate potential supply chain disruptions by utilizing existing metrics/KPIs or developing new ones to enhance procurement efficiency and accuracy
- Provide item creation and sourcing support to assist Sales Team initiatives.
- Maintain the integrity of customer/item pricing structures and resolve any related issues
- Manage the HTS/landed cost template system and ensure accurate assignment of all associated tariff codes
- Facilitate communication between the demand (sales) and supply (purchasing) teams to build a foundation of collaboration
- Maintain vendor databases for pricing and lead times.
- Assist the Procurement Engineer(s) in the maintenance of Standard Notes and other Control Documents
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrated ability to work in an organized and thoughtful manner, ensuring daily tasks are completed in a timely fashion
- Ability to communicate with Cross-Functional Teams, individually or in a group setting
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and can work with an appreciable amount of latitude
- Ability to work collaboratively with an energetic group of Sales Professionals to meet or exceed customer requirements
- Flexible and adaptable with the ability to work in ambiguous situations, bringing clarity to the process, utilizing a data-driven approach to decisions and planning.
- Ability to overcome problems and challenges, while maintaining pre-defined timelines, despite competing priorities
Education and Experience
- Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field is preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; particularly Excel.
- Experience with an ERP, at an Intermediate or greater level; particularly NetSuite
Working Conditions
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
