Job Description
Purpose of the role
You’ll enhance the delivery of some of the most complex and interesting projects in the world by driving effective production planning and site delivery to the highest standards.
You’ll work closely with contractors to plan, sequence, and execute the work, using structured planning methods to improve certainty and logistical flow on site.
You’ll translate an integrated master schedule into practical and buildable plans, using lean planning software and collaborative planning techniques to ensure teams are aligned on priorities, constraints, and upcoming work.
Your team
This role is part of our Project Management Consultancy team which focuses on:
Understanding what the real problems of project delivery are
Implementing practical, site-driven solutions with contractors
Developing scalable best practices, tools, and technology
More specifically, you’ll be part of our Project Planning Team, who are industry leaders in the planning and delivery of complex construction projects. Your initial leader will be one of our planning discipline directors.
Your top three objectives
To make construction projects deliver to near perfection through effective production planning and control
To create scalable and repeatable solutions that improve site delivery and logistics performance.
To develop yourself and everyone around you, including contractor teams and site supervisors.
Your top five responsibilities
- Own the plan (Production & Delivery Focus): Own and optimise the project plan and actively drive its implementation with contractors. Ensure plans are buildable, coordinated, and aligned with site realities, with a strong focus on short-term delivery. Mitigate/reduce delays through proactive delivery planning, constraint removal, and verifying construction sequencing with contractors.
- Facilitate contractor planning and execution: Work directly with contractors to develop and maintain high-quality, logic-driven programmes. Lead look-ahead planning (2–6 weeks), coordinate trades, and ensure teams are clear on priorities, access, and constraints.
- Implement collaborative planning methods: Facilitate Last Planner System (LPS) practices including look-ahead planning, weekly work planning, and constraint management. Lead milestone pull planning sessions to break down key phases into logistically deliverable and sequenced work packages.
- Report and improve delivery performance: Provide insights on plan performance, progress, and risks. Track metrics such as PPC and reasons for variance, and work with teams to continuously improve plan reliability and productivity.
- Make scalable solutions & develop others: Develop and implement repeatable planning and logistics approaches and tools. Support the development of project teams and contractors by coaching in planning best practices and delivery-focused thinking.
You must have:
- A construction engineering background:You have at least 2+ years of experience on construction projects, experience in project planning both software and principles, as well as decent Excel skills, and a strong interest in data
- Communication skills:You’re proficient in written and verbal English and have the charisma and influence to get construction people to do new things and take the best approach
- Leadership capabilities:You lead yourself proactively and lead others by asking the right questions and challenging them
- Impact:You have a track record of making projects and organisations better beyond just doing the basics – implementing scalable, repeatable solutions that had a significant positive impact

- You want an easy, chilled-out role without much challenge
- You like to be the smartest person in the room
- You don’t like continuously receiving honest candid feedback
- You prefer to do your own thing rather than work with a team
