Job Description

Chief of Staff to CFO

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Chief of Staff to CFO in United States.

This is a high-impact strategic role positioned at the core of the finance and executive operating agenda. You will act as a trusted partner to the CFO, helping translate high-level strategy into clear execution across finance, actuarial, operations, and product functions. The role is designed for a strong operator who thrives in ambiguity and excels at bringing structure, clarity, and momentum to complex initiatives. You will influence senior stakeholders, drive cross-functional alignment, and ensure leadership decisions are grounded in data and actionable insight. Operating as a force multiplier, you will directly shape how priorities are defined, executed, and measured across the organization. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who combines analytical rigor, strategic thinking, and hands-on execution in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Accountabilities:

Act as a strategic extension of the CFO, shaping priorities, operating rhythms, and decision-making frameworks across Finance and the broader organization.

  • Translate high-level objectives into structured execution plans with clear ownership, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
  • Lead high-priority, cross-functional initiatives spanning finance, actuarial, operations, product, and data teams from definition through execution.
  • Strengthen the finance operating model by improving KPI definition, tracking, and how insights drive business decisions and accountability.
  • Prepare executive-level materials for the Board, Audit Committee, investors, and leadership, ensuring clarity, rigor, and narrative precision.
  • Drive alignment across functions by identifying misalignment early and resolving complex cross-functional issues before they impact execution.
  • Elevate decision quality by applying structured, first-principles, and data-driven thinking to complex business challenges.
  • Identify and implement AI-enabled and technology-driven solutions to improve efficiency, execution speed, and operational leverage.
  • Support strategic prioritization by ensuring leadership focus remains on the highest-impact initiatives.
Requirements:

7–10+ years of experience in consulting, finance, strategy, operations, investing, or other high-performance analytical or operating environments.

  • Proven ability to operate as a systems thinker, structuring ambiguity into clear, actionable frameworks and execution plans.
  • Strong executive communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex topics into clear recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Experience influencing cross-functional stakeholders without formal authority in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • Highly analytical with strong financial acumen and the ability to work confidently with data, metrics, and business performance indicators.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution and operational ownership.
  • High emotional intelligence with a low-ego, collaborative, and solution-oriented leadership style.
  • Strong proficiency in leveraging AI tools or modern technologies to accelerate workflows and improve decision-making.
  • Healthcare industry experience is strongly preferred, particularly in Medicare Advantage, value-based care, or insurance-related models.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
Benefits:
  • Competitive base salary with an estimated range of $180,000 to $230,000 annually.
  • Performance-based annual bonus program.
  • Equity opportunities and Employee Stock Purchase Plan with discounted shares.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching contributions.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
  • Mental health support, flexible time off, and no-meeting Fridays for better work-life balance.
  • Monthly company-wide wellness days and access to mental health resources.
  • Remote-first work environment with flexibility to work from anywhere.
  • Professional development programs, mentorship, and learning budget support.
  • Paid parental leave and additional family-support benefits.
  • Home office setup reimbursement and monthly internet/cell phone stipend.
