In this role, you will own the governance, performance, and operational integrity of a critical clinical trial management system that supports large-scale research operations across global health initiatives. You will act as both a technical leader and people manager, ensuring CTMS configurations, study builds, and platform changes are accurate, compliant, and aligned with regulatory and operational standards. This position plays a key role in maintaining system reliability, enabling high-quality clinical operations, and supporting data-driven decision-making across study teams. You will collaborate closely with study start-up, clinical operations, QA, vendors, and analytics teams to ensure seamless system integration and execution. Operating in a remote-first environment, you will lead a team responsible for CTMS operations while continuously improving processes, reporting capabilities, and system governance. This is a highly impactful role at the intersection of clinical systems, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance.
- Own CTMS platform governance, including final approval of system builds, configurations, and release readiness
- Define, maintain, and enforce configuration standards, naming conventions, and system build quality controls
- Lead CTMS change control processes, validation activities, upgrade testing, and audit readiness preparation
- Manage CTMS Operations team, including hiring, training, performance management, workload allocation, and career development
- Oversee CTMS-sourced reporting, define KPIs, and drive continuous improvement of operational dashboards and insights
- Serve as primary liaison between CTMS vendors and internal stakeholders including SSU, Study Ops, QA, and Analytics teams
- Coordinate system integrations, issue resolution, and cross-functional operational alignment
- Maintain CTMS SOPs, runbooks, and training documentation to ensure consistency and compliance
- Represent CTMS operations in governance forums, study readiness reviews, and escalation processes
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in clinical operations, life sciences, or related field
- 5+ years of experience working with CTMS or clinical systems, with at least 2+ years in a leadership or team management role
- Strong expertise in CTMS configuration, study build processes, and system governance (experience with platforms such as Veeva, Florence, Conductor, or similar preferred)
- Solid understanding of clinical operations workflows, including SSU, study execution, and QA processes
- Familiarity with ICH-GCP guidelines, SOPs, and regulatory audit requirements
- Proven people management experience, including coaching, performance management, and team development
- Strong cross-functional stakeholder management skills across technical, operational, and vendor teams
- Technical fluency to support system testing, integrations, and structured troubleshooting
- Excellent communication, documentation, and attention to detail skills
- Ability to operate effectively in a remote, fast-paced, and highly collaborative environment
