GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Sawfiler will be responsible for seting up and operating saw, lathe, drill, grinder or sander during different steps in manufacturing.

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION

• To read manufacturing prints and work orders for product specifications, such as materials, components, dimensions and tolerances. Required to understand and follow any manufacturing processes specified in documentation.
• To set up and operate saw, lathe, drill/mill, grinder or sander during different steps in manufacturing. Required to visually verify conformance of work-piece to specifications using measuring instruments. May use manual hand tools as necessary.
• To weld, braze, glue or melt components together during assembly of product and clean joining process when completed.
• To calculate spacing and set floats with proper orientation on sensor.
• To calculate length, cut and connect lead wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points, using soldering or related bonding procedures and equipment.
• To calculate spacing and set wiring harness at specified actuation points within the sensor stem and pot assembly.
• To verify quality of own work throughout entire assembly process.
• To complete the work order from start to finish without supervision.
• Must wear safety equipment, i.e.: safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed boots and other PPE as required by specific jobs.
• Must comply with corporate safety lock out program.

• Experience working in manufacturing environment.
• Commitment to safety.
• Excellent attendance record.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Sawmill experience preferred.

PHYSICAL
REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to stand, sit, walk, climb stairs or ladders, or kneel for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift at least 40 pounds.
• Ability to work from elevated positions using required safety gear and procedures.
• Ability to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to twelve (12) hours a day
• Able to work in a variety of environmental conditions.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or GED required.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

Preferred Experience:
• Driving and operating a forklift within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Basic computer skills.
• Experience working in lumber or wood products industry.
• Experience troubleshooting equipment.
