About the Opportunity:
We’re expanding rapidly and hiring a Director, Software Engineering who will provide leadership to a technical engineering team and help define and manage the processes and metrics to ensure software development roadmap deliverables and timelines can be achieved. The Director plays a key role in driving the roadmap, enhancement, and maintenance of the assigned product area, along with fostering team development and cohesion. This role works closely with senior technical and product leaders and also works collaboratively with other cross-functional colleagues across the organization to impact client needs and innovate in the market.

What You'll Do:
- Oversee the software development lifecycle and manage assigned engineering teams and products, ensuring everyone uses best practices and achieves optimal efficiency from planning & design through deployment & ongoing maintenance
- In collaboration with other engineering leaders, help define and analyze key performance indicators, metrics and deliverables to gauge internal measurements of success
- Works with Product Managers to allocate resources and manage expectations between projects and products, including escalating issues or obstacles as needed to ensure on-time achievement of initiatives and roadmap objectives
- Responsible for hiring and evaluating team performance, including supporting leaders and team members, identifying strengths, problem areas, and developing plans for improving performance
- Provide tailored coaching, mentoring, technical and professional development guidance to leaders and team members, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and individual career growth
- In collaboration with senior and peer leaders, develop, implement, document, and improve upon engineering processes to ensure consistency, maximize efficiency, and achieve desired departmental outcomes
- Continuously evaluates emerging technologies, trends, and best practices, and makes recommendations for improvement
- Coordinates with cross-functional leaders to identify and resolve issues as they arise and create opportunities to reduce client requests by continuously innovating and making product improvements
- Provides key escalation support and solutions as necessary when called upon to assist in technical problems
- Assists the CTO and/or the VP of Engineering in evaluating team performance, workforce needs, and resource planning, including providing recurring and ad hoc reports, or other insights as requested
- Travel to headquarters, client sites, industry or company events, or other onsite meetings as required
- Perform additional duties or tasks as assigned
What You’ll Need:
- Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or similar technical area of expertise, or the equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience, preferably with an advanced degree or certifications
- Extensive experience managing and coaching direct reports, preferably in an agile/scrum and matrixed environment
- Extensive experience engineering commercially viable enterprise SaaS applications, preferably in a full stack role with proven success developing and maintaining market-leading products
- Ability to ideate plans and solutions and then effectively communicate to and execute with others
- Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Expert attention to detail, problem-solving, analytical & critical thinking skills
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, agile/scrum methodologies, and integration and deployment practices
- Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and infrastructure, including familiarity with containerization, load balancing, and interfaces
- Ability to ideate plans and solutions, then effectively translate and communicate to all audience levels
- Excellent technical aptitude and continuous improvement mindset, along with a strong desire to continue to learn and implement new technologies
- Excellent time management, prioritization, project management, and organizational skills, with strong appreciation of critical timelines to meet objectives
- Proven to be a self-starter in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and business needs
- Ability to maintain discretion when handling proprietary and confidential information
- Enthusiasm for learning and expanding knowledge or skills
- Strong work ethic, integrity, honesty, collaboration and team orientation
- Ability to travel as required, up to 25%

Position Salary Range: The annual base salary range for this full-time role is $135,000 - $185,000 USD + bonus + benefits + perks + community gains. Within the range, individual pay is determined by job-related skills, education or training and other relevant qualifications.
