Job Purpose
As we continue to expand our market share in the rapidly emerging Employee Experience platform category, we are looking for a Product Designer (mid-senior) on a 6-month fixed term contract to help shape the next generation of Unily’s platform as we evolve towards an AI-native future. This is not a traditional UX role. You’ll be expected to think like a builder, working hands-on with Product and Engineering to rapidly prototype, validate, and ship high-quality experiences.
While grounded in strong UX thinking and user research, this role places particular emphasis on high-quality visual design and interaction craft, helping raise the bar across the platform.
Reporting to the Head of Design, you’ll work alongside Product Managers, Engineers, and fellow Designers to shape the user experience across key areas of our platform. Your day-to-day will involve deep collaboration with product teams. You'll be leading discovery, validating ideas, and designing AI-native experiences that are grounded in user needs and aligned with business goals.
Main Responsibilities
Elevate the visual quality of the product through strong UI, interaction design, and a high bar for craft and polish Explore solutions that push the boundaries of user experience by rapidly prototyping ideas at varying levels of fidelity, from concept to near-production, to test and validate direction Create user flows and journey maps to communicate design intent Lead and contribute to user research initiatives to uncover insights, validate assumptions, and inform product direction Facilitate workshops and discovery sessions with stakeholders and users. Advocate for user needs throughout the product development lifecycle, ensuring solutions are grounded in real-world insights Apply behavioral design principles to create intuitive, engaging experiences that account for cognitive biases and heuristics Leverage AI tools to accelerate design exploration, prototyping, and validation, integrating them into day-to-day workflows Strong judgement in when to go deep on UX and research vs when to move quickly and iterate Collaborate in a “builder” model with Product and Engineering, contributing to solution shaping, not just design execution Work closely with the Design Systems team to ensure consistency and alignment with established UI patterns across omni-channel experiences Contribute to the evolution of our design practice by sharing knowledge, mentoring others, and championing UX best practicesRequirements
Strong visual and interaction design skills, with a portfolio that shows high-quality UI craft in shipped products Clear design taste and a strong sense of craft, with high standards for interaction quality, motion, layout, and visual detail Demonstrable experience using AI tools (e.g. for design exploration, prototyping, research synthesis, or content generation) as part of the design process and, where relevant, contributing to code or implementation Ability to quickly create high-fidelity, interactive prototypes to test and communicate ideas Strong in UX design and user research within cross-functional product teams. Ability to plan, conduct, and synthesize qualitative and quantitative research. Expertise in designing user flows, journey maps, and wireframes for complex digital products Comfortable working in a highly iterative, fast-moving environment with blurred boundaries between design, product, and engineering Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to align diverse stakeholders around user needs Proficiency in modern design, research and AI tooling (e.g. Figma, FigJam, Lyssna, AI-assisted prototyping and research tools) Experience of working with comprehensive design systems and adhering to WCAG guidelinesDesirable criteria
Experience in B2B SaaS or enterprise software environments Fluency in SpanishWe are united by a shared purpose and are committed to truly understanding each other. We know that everyone is unique and has their own story. We strive to have a diverse workforce that embraces and celebrates one another. We are united in building connections and curious to learn from each other so that we continue to grow together to build the workplace of tomorrow.
