TITLE:

Maintenance Staff

DEPARTMENT:

Engineering

STATUS:

Non-Exempt, Full Time, Regular

SUPERVISED BY:

Hotel manager and Rooms Manager

SUPERVISES:

This position does not supervise anyone

The Maintenance Staff is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the physical building and all of its features including the day to day operation and maintenance routines. A Maintenance Staff member will execute preventative maintenance and assist in projects from their Supervisor. This position will perform minor and some major repairs upon direction of management and slight improvements. This department and the staff members will support the other operating departments and guest activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • 24/7 availability to cover work shifts/emergencies
  • Provide support in any maintenance issues with mechanical or electrical needs of the hotel
  • Assist in HVAC tickets and may lead certain aspects of this project
  • Drywall/Paint/Wallpaper repair needed to perform requests to Project Manage a room
  • Preventative Maintenance Knowledge necessary to provide understanding of basic equipment on property
  • Work with vendor to resolve plumbing issues and may lead certain aspects of this project
  • reporting landscaping issues to management when deemed necessary
  • Carrying out quality inspections
  • Responding immediately to equipment breakdowns
  • Attend all mandatory meetings.
  • Assist Security as needed in maintaining a secure property.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minor laundry equipment repair.
  • Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, life safety systems, preventative maintenance systems and all related engineering disciplines.
  • Knowledge of PTAC and central air and heating units a plus.

EDUCATION:

  • Technical Trade School with general mechanical experience, Laundry equipment a plus.

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL WORK DEMANDS:

  • Able to sit and work for extended periods of time.
  • Able to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist and reach on a daily basis.
  • Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Regular and on-time attendance is critical.
  • Hours occasionally exceed 40 hours per week.
  • Work the Graveyard Shift Hours
  • Ability to stand during shifts
