Job Title: Experienced Roofing Estimator
Reports To: Estimating Director
Classification: Exempt

We're looking for a seasoned Roofing Estimator who brings hands-on expertise in preparing detailed estimates for a range of roofing projects. If you’re passionate about numbers, have a keen eye for detail, and know the ins and outs of roofing contracts, you’ll thrive in our fast-paced team environment.

• Estimate Preparation:
  Develop comprehensive, accurate roofing estimates and bid proposals for varied roofing contracts.

• Project Scheduling:
  Manage and update estimating and bid schedules as assigned by the Estimating Director.

• Detailed Takeoffs & Reviews:
  Perform quantitative takeoffs from plans/drawings and review construction specifications, bid documents, and existing site conditions.

• Quotation Management:
  Source and evaluate material, labor, and subcontractor quotes specific to roofing needs.

• Clarification & Communication:
  Issue RFIs (Requests for Information) to resolve any discrepancies in scope or specifications, and collaborate with owners, contractors, and architects to confirm details.

• Tool Utilization:
  Use estimating software, Excel, and other digital tools to build accurate estimate templates that cover all job-related costs (materials, labor, equipment, etc.).

• Submittal Documentation:
  Prepare, review, and finalize submittal documents—including detailed drawings, manufacturer specs, safety plans, and code approvals—to support your estimates.

• Team Collaboration:
  Work closely with the sales team to review scopes and ensure proposals meet client expectations.

• Educational Background:
  A 4-year degree in a STEM field (Engineering, Mathematics, or Natural Sciences preferred).

• Experience:
  Proven background of at least 3 years roofing estimation or construction cost estimating with a focus on roofing contracts.

• Technical Skills:
  Proficiency in estimating software, Excel, and other relevant computer programs.

• Communication:
  Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities.

• Attention to Detail:
  Highly analytical with a meticulous approach to numbers and project details.

• Physical Requirement:
  Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.

• Language:
  Must be fluent in English.
