Position Summary:
As a General Labor for Carl Buddig & Company, you will be responsible for preparing/packaging fresh and frozen meat products for shipment with a safety–minded attitude that maintains and enhances a safety culture for the benefit of the Company and its employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pack fresh and frozen meat products.
- Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to effectively follow work instructions.
- Assist in changeovers as needed.
- Ensure conformance to specifications.
- Able to read and understand written instructions.
- Ability to perform frequent lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Successfully complete a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check
- Load and unload items from machines, carts, and dollies.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Must adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing results as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Ability to legally work in the United States.
- High School Diploma/GED is preferred.
- 1-2 years related work experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of GMP and USDA regulations preferred.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English.
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to work in temperatures below 40 degrees.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Able to push and pull items in excess of 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Able to grip and grasp small objects repeatedly.
- Able to work in a cold, damp environment.
- Able to stand 8-10 hours per day.
- Able to bend, twist, and stoop on an occasional basis.
- Ability to perform frequent lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Must have good hand and eye coordination.
- Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to work a minimum of 40 or more hours per week (Overtime if necessary).
Pay rate for this position is $17.00 per hour.
