Job Description
As Country Maid's Production Manager, your mission is to inspire, lead, and empower the production team to achieve excellence in safety, quality, and efficiency. By fostering a positive, supportive work environment and ensuring your team has the tools and resources they need, you will drive operational success while maintaining the highest standards of food and human safety.
Specific Duties include:
· Lead and Inspire the Team: As you lead a team of up to 40 full-time and seasonal manufacturing team members, you set the tone for interactions and communication, creating a positive, high-performing work environment where employees feel valued, supported, and heard.
· Ensure Safe Operations: You are responsible for maintaining compliance with all safety protocols, ensuring both human and food safety standards are met or exceeded.
· Oversee Production Processes: You will monitor and optimize the performance of production, ensuring adherence to recipes, processes, and quality standards.
· Coach and Develop Employees: You will provide timely coaching, counseling, and performance evaluations and oversee training to build a skilled, motivated, and engaged team.
· Plan and Organize: You will oversee daily scheduling, organize workflows, and direct resources in order to meet production goals efficiently and cost-effectively.
· Collaborate for Success: You will work closely with other supervisors and departments to align on goals, address challenges, and complete investigations into irregularities as needed.
· Drive Continuous Improvement: You will identify opportunities to enhance processes, reduce waste, and improve production consistency while meeting cost and quality standards.
· Ensure Compliance: You will uphold regulatory, company, and industry standards for safety, quality, and efficiency at all times.
To succeed in this role, you need at least three years of leadership experience in manufacturing (food manufacturing preferred but not required). Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, and ERP experience is a plus. Key competencies include safety and compliance, continuous improvement methodologies, budgeting and resource management, and team leadership and development.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this role. An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field of study is beneficial, but an equal combination of education, experience, and industry knowledge will be considered.
You will utilize a variety of computer programs in this role, including Word, Excel, and email software. You will also learn plant operations-specific software systems, including SafetyChain and Business Central. You will spend approximately 20 to 40% of your time on the manufacturing floor, and should also have comfort operating machinery, using basic hand tools, and have general mechanical abilities.
Physical requirements include the ability to walk, stand, sit, crouch, and use senses including touch, taste, smell, speak, and hear. You must be able to lift up to 60 pounds with or without accommodation.
