Job Description
Tiffin University seeks a qualified individual for the position of Adjunct Instructor in Commercial Music (Voice). The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in contemporary commercial vocal styles and pedagogy, with the ability to support developing artists in a variety of performance and professional contexts.
Requirements:Key Responsibilities:
· Teach applied voice for students majoring or minoring in Commercial Music, as well as non-music majors at varying levels of experience
· Instruct and coach in a range of musical styles including Commercial, Gospel, Jazz, Musical Theatre, and Contemporary Worship music, and if requested, Classical
· Teach and model belt singing technique and principles of contemporary vocal production
· Provide basic piano accompaniment using written music, lead sheets and Nashville numbers charts
· Perform in Faculty Concerts and University ensembles as appropriate
· Work collaboratively with other members of the voice faculty in teaching studio classes, managing student voice recitals, and coordinating voice juries and performance projects
· Contribute to a collaborative, student-centered learning environments within the Tiffin Music programs
· Other courses and additional duties may be assigned predicated on the interests, qualifications, and experiences of the applicant as well as on program needs
Qualifications for the Job:
Education
· Master's degree in Music or Music Education (required)
Experience
- Demonstrated expertise in teaching commercial vocal techniques and commercial vocal styles pedagogy (required)
- Skill, ability, and stylistic adaptability to instruct students at various levels of experience and training (required)
- Ability to work in a team leadership setting, strong collaborative skills (required)
- Expertise in recording studio singing techniques, singing with amplification, and vocal improvisation techniques (preferred)
