In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring product quality across design, development, and manufacturing stages within a fast-paced electronics production environment. You will be responsible for integrating quality requirements into production processes and driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance reliability and reduce failure risks. Working closely with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams, you will analyze quality data, identify root causes of defects, and implement corrective actions. The position is based primarily at manufacturing partner sites near Chennai, where you will be closely involved in day-to-day production quality operations. This role offers strong exposure to PC and electronics manufacturing processes, quality systems, and advanced testing methodologies. It is ideal for a hands-on quality professional who thrives in a factory-driven environment and enjoys solving complex technical issues.
- Design and integrate quality requirements, processes, and best practices into product development, design, and manufacturing workflows to ensure high product reliability and performance.
- Support inspection methods and quality systems including IQC, IPQC, and OQC, ensuring adherence to ISO standards, SOPs, ESD controls, and manufacturing guidelines.
- Conduct process and product audits, analyze test data, and identify trends, risks, and quality issues across production lines.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to reduce defects and improve manufacturing quality outcomes.
- Develop and execute test strategies, including test planning, automation, and evaluation of hardware/software product performance.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams to resolve production issues and ensure continuous improvement across processes.
- Prepare detailed reports and communicate findings, recommendations, and improvement opportunities to engineering leadership and stakeholders.
- Drive implementation of process improvements, cost reduction initiatives, and quality enhancements across manufacturing operations.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
- 3–5+ years of experience in product quality, manufacturing quality, or QA/QC roles, preferably within PC, electronics, or 3C manufacturing environments.
- Strong understanding of PC architecture, hardware components, and electronics manufacturing processes.
- Hands-on experience with quality tools such as RCA, CAPA, 8D, Lean 6S, ISO 9000, and quality management systems.
- Ability to perform manufacturing issue triage and analyze technical and quality-related problems in production environments.
- Familiarity with test planning, test automation, and engineering tools used in product validation and diagnostics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to quality improvement.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Tamil, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and levels.
- Comfortable working in a factory-based environment with onsite presence required multiple days per week near Chennai/Sriperumbudur.
