We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in both Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) and a passion for maintaining accurate financial records.
Job SummaryThe Accounting Clerk will be responsible for providing critical support to the finance department by managing daily accounting tasks. This role focuses heavily on processing vendor invoices, managing outgoing payments, generating client invoices, and tracking incoming revenue. You will ensure that our financial transactions are accurately logged and discrepancies are resolved promptly.
Key ResponsibilitiesAccounts Payable (AP):
Review, verify, and enter vendor invoices into the accounting system (Zoho Books).
Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents (3-way matching).
Process weekly check runs, ACH transfers, and credit card payments.
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any billing discrepancies or missing invoices.
Maintain accurate and organized AP files and vendor records.
Accounts Receivable (AR):
Generate and send out accurate client invoices daily.
Post daily customer payments (checks, credit cards, wire transfers) to the correct accounts.
Monitor AR aging reports and actively follow up on past-due accounts via email and phone.
Investigate and resolve customer queries regarding billing or payment issues.
Assist in processing bank deposits.
General Accounting:
Perform regular bank and credit card account reconciliations.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
Maintain and update accounting records and files.
Perform other clerical and administrative duties as requested by the Financial Controller.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business is highly preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in bookkeeping or accounting, with a proven track record in both AP and AR processes.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (experience with (Zoho Books is a plus).
Attention to Detail: High degree of accuracy and a keen eye for spotting errors.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with vendors and clients.
Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
