TITLE: Assistant Branch Manager
REPORTS TO: Branch Manager
JOB TYPE: Full-time (non-exempt)
The Position
The Assistant Branch Manager position will be responsible for assisting the Branch Manager in the daily operations of their branch. The Assistant Branch Manager will strive to achieve and exceed set loan and deposit growth goals. The Assistant Branch Manager will assist in coaching their staff in creating a positive member experience by utilizing sales skills, such as, but not limited to, profiling. The Assistant Branch manager will have expertise in all credit union products and services, including, but not limited to, deposit products, consumer loans, real estate loans & credit cards. The position will require opening and maintenance of accounts and new loan relationships, responding to problems and directing members to the appropriate individuals.
Key accountabilities
- Complete knowledge of credit union products and services
- Assist staff with procedural questions or system overrides
- Develop schedules to ensure branch is staffed as required, as well as delegate assignments to staff
- Responsible for approving PTO, personal days, comp time, etc.
- Complete Quality Control checks on Member Service Representatives and report those checks to Branch Manager
- Responsible for balancing vault, ATM and ordering cash
- Actively motivates and coaches staff
- Process all types of loan applications by:
- interviewing loan applicants
- preparing required documents for approval/denial
- processing approved loan documents for disbursement
- ensuring all processes are in compliance with credit union policies and legal requirements
- Learn and make loan decisions
- Research and provide solutions to member account problems and inquiries
- Responsible for opening all types of credit union accounts
- Use needs-based sales skills to understand the financial needs of our members and provide guidance on products and services that best meet those needs
- Attend meetings, conferences, seminars and training courses relating to areas of responsibility, as required
- Expected to learn current data processing system and general office procedures as well as perform a variety of miscellaneous tasks which may include typing, filing, computer input, answering the telephone and other duties as assigned
- Will perform job duties in compliance with policies and procedures established by the Board of Directors under the rules and regulations set by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FINCEN) and the state of Pennsylvania
Qualifications
The fully qualified candidate will have completed the equivalent of a high school education. The candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a sales or financial environment. Previous supervisory experience is preferred. Computer skills are required. Interpersonal skills are necessary for communicating with members and employees. The candidate will be results-oriented and motivated.
