Job Description
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Master Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and communicating production schedules to support customer delivery requirements, work center capacity, material availability, and operational priorities. This role serves as a key liaison between Production, Customer Service, Purchasing, and plant leadership to ensure customer commitments are based on accurate ERP data, current production status, and realistic capacity planning. The Master Scheduler performs work center capacity analysis, identifies scheduling constraints and material risks, supports schedule adherence, and helps drive improvements in production flow, lead times, and on-time delivery.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Develops, maintains, communicates, and adjusts production schedules to support customer delivery requirements, work center capacity, material availability, and operational priorities.
- Maintains accurate production schedule dates, order status, and priority changes in the ERP system to support reliable internal planning and customer communication.
- Serves as the primary scheduling liaison between Production, Customer Service, Purchasing, and plant leadership to ensure customer commitments are based on current capacity, material availability, and production status.
- Partners with Customer Service to provide realistic ship dates and timely updates when customer commitments are at risk.
- Participates in daily production, scheduling, or cross-functional meetings to review priorities, constraints, schedule changes, and customer-impacting risks.
- Partners with production supervisors communicate daily priorities, resolve scheduling issues, and ensure work centers understand the actions required to meet customer commitments.
- Reviews, prioritizes, and communicates urgent or escalated customer orders by department/work center.
- Reviews, expedites, and prioritizes shop orders to support on-time delivery and recovery of customer-impacting delays.
- Recommends and/or makes scheduling decisions to release, firm, cancel, or defer work based on demand, capacity, material availability, and customer priorities.
- Performs work center capacity analysis to identify constraints, labor needs, material risks, and schedule conflicts that may impact on-time delivery.
- Escalates and supports resolution of capacity constraints, material shortages, and schedule risks that may impact customer commitments.
- Investigates and resolves quantity discrepancies and makes appropriate corrections where needed.
- Interfaces with manufacturing, purchasing, customer service, and other support functions regarding material status, schedule changes, and production planning issues.
- Monitors schedule adherence and communication deviations, recovery actions, and revised timelines to appropriate stakeholders.
- Supports continuous improvement efforts related to schedule accuracy, production flow, lead times, work center utilization, and on-time delivery.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment and adheres to all Jor-Mac and OSHA safety-related rules, procedures, and work practices.
- Serves as a back-up to the Production Scheduler/Planner & Production Support Coordinator.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
QUALIFICATIONS:

- High school diploma or general education (GED) and five years related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Background utilizing office equipment; familiarity with MS Office and ERP systems.
- Possess excellent communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to work in a team environment, efficiently and effectively.
- Ability to understand work orders and follow procedures.
- Excellent organizational skills: with a high level of flexibility and willingness to adapt to situations quickly.
- Ability to work with a wide range of personalities in a courteous, effective, and efficient manner.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; occasionally required to sit and talk; frequently required to hear, walk, and continuously stand and reach with hands and arms. The employee will frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet; with exposure to loud noise when on the production floor.
