Software Engineer, Transfers

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Software Engineer, Transfers based in Canada.

This role offers the opportunity to build scalable software that supports a growing digital healthcare ecosystem serving patients across Canada.
You will contribute across the full technology stack, shaping both backend services and frontend experiences that power critical user journeys.
Working with modern web technologies, you will help design reliable systems capable of supporting new products, markets, and healthcare categories.
You will collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering colleagues to turn complex requirements into intuitive and impactful solutions.
The role also provides opportunities to apply AI and LLM-based workflows to accelerate development and improve internal processes.
As an experienced engineer, you will contribute to engineering standards, system reliability, and the growth of less experienced team members.

Accountabilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain backend and frontend systems, including architectural patterns, technical specifications, system designs, and database structures.
  • Build scalable software and services that support the launch of new products, expansion into new markets, and growth across additional healthcare categories.
  • Develop robust full-stack applications using technologies such as PHP/Laravel, JavaScript, and Vue.js.
  • Apply AI tools and LLM-based workflows to accelerate software development, automate internal processes, and improve engineering productivity.
  • Strengthen platform reliability through rigorous testing, monitoring, observability, and proactive identification of system optimization opportunities.
  • Manage communication and data flows across different layers of the technology stack to improve system efficiency and maintain sound engineering practices.
  • Partner with Product and Design teams to translate business and user requirements into innovative digital experiences.
  • Contribute to technical decision-making, development frameworks, and engineering best practices.
  • Help unblock development teams, provide technical leadership, and move projects forward in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support the continuous development of the broader engineering team.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of professional experience as a full-stack software engineer building scalable web applications.
  • Strong familiarity with technologies such as PHP/Laravel, JavaScript, and Vue.js, along with a willingness to continuously learn and adopt evolving technologies.
  • Solid understanding of software architecture, backend and frontend development, databases, testing, monitoring, and system reliability.
  • Experience using AI-powered development tools or working with LLM-based workflows is an asset, along with a demonstrated interest in applying AI to engineering challenges.
  • Ability to provide technical leadership, remove blockers, and help guide development teams toward effective solutions.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and collaborate effectively with Product, Design, and other stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and able to create clarity, identify solutions, and maintain momentum across complex projects.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with a focus on building reliable, scalable, and user-focused software.
  • Collaborative approach and willingness to mentor and support less experienced engineers.
