Job Description

Position Summary

The Process Technician provides the technical support necessary to achieve Operational Excellence in manufacturing by applying strong hands‑on knowledge to support production operations, resolve technical issues and continuously improve assembly and test processes. This role maintains and improves product test stands, helps to optimize material workflow within work cells, creates effective job aids, and supports the smooth integration of products into manufacturing. Serving as a key support function among Engineering and Operations, the Process Technician helps to address customer quality issues, supports new product introduction and collaborates on design and process improvements to deliver high‑quality products on time and with exceptional consistency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on and remote production troubleshooting to quickly resolve issues affecting uptime, quality, or throughput, including diagnosing failures during assembly, test, or end-of-line verification, such as wiring issues, test setup issues, defective tester components, and defective product components
  • Perform routine maintenance on computer-based production test fixtures on its subsystems such as computer, printer, and plumbing
  • Perform preventative maintenance on production test fixtures, such as periodic calibration, computer re-imaging, and maintaining backup inventory of critical components
  • Develop and contribute to improvements to existing test systems, including wiring, components, and LabVIEW software
  • Develop, document, and maintain fixturing to support repeatable manufacturing processes and to interface products with test systems
  • Maintain repository of version-controlled tester software programs
  • Collaborate with external firms on the development of new test systems
  • Support investigations into production or customer-reported quality issues, driving corrective and preventive actions that address root causes for both electrical and mechanical contributors
  • Support and refine manufacturing test methods for products
  • Create, maintain, and improve manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, job aids, standard work, and process flows, ensuring clarity and accuracy for production teams
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams - Operations, Quality, and Product Development - to ensure technical issues are resolved, processes remain stable, and production readiness is maintained
  • Ensure proper handling, assembly, and testing of components by providing training, guidance, and documentation support for production personnel

Experience

  • 2-4 years of experience in a manufacturing, production test, or industrial maintenance environment
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Experience with manufacturing documentation, equipment validation and process qualification
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively
  • Electrical and mechanical aptitude and hands-on approach to solving problems in a production environment
  • Any programming experience is a plus, especially LabVIEW programming experience

Education

  • Associate’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Industrial/Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical field
  • In lieu of a degree, equivalent hands-on experience in production test, electronics repair, or industrial maintenance will be considered
