This short-term consulting role focuses on improving the accuracy, compliance, and financial performance of Home Health and Hospice revenue cycle operations. You will serve as a specialized expert conducting deep audits of coding practices, chargemaster configuration, and reimbursement workflows to identify inefficiencies and revenue leakage. The role requires a strong command of healthcare coding standards and payer regulations, combined with the ability to translate findings into clear, actionable optimization strategies. Operating in a fully remote environment, you will collaborate with operational and financial stakeholders to assess current processes and recommend improvements. Your insights will directly support reimbursement optimization while ensuring regulatory compliance across Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers. This is a high-impact assignment suited for a seasoned SME with strong analytical and audit capabilities.
In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating and optimizing Home Health and Hospice coding, chargemaster structures, and reimbursement processes to improve compliance and financial outcomes.
- Conduct comprehensive audits of Home Health and Hospice coding practices and chargemaster configurations
- Evaluate revenue cycle processes to identify inefficiencies, revenue leakage, and compliance risks
- Assess current coding and charge capture methodologies and recommend improvements
- Review reimbursement processes across Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers
- Provide actionable recommendations to optimize revenue cycle performance and regulatory compliance
- Analyze operational workflows to identify gaps impacting coding accuracy and reimbursement
- Collaborate with stakeholders to validate findings and support implementation of improvements
This role requires deep expertise in Home Health and Hospice coding, chargemaster management, and healthcare reimbursement systems, along with strong auditing and analytical capabilities.
- 7+ years of Home Health and/or Hospice coding experience
- 5+ years of chargemaster management or maintenance experience
- Strong knowledge of Home Health and Hospice reimbursement methodologies
- Proven experience conducting coding audits and revenue cycle assessments
- Deep understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer requirements
- Ability to identify revenue optimization opportunities and compliance risks
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills
- Experience working within Home Health and Hospice operational environments
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in healthcare, HIM, nursing, finance, or related field
