Job Description

About the Role:

The Radiologic Technologist plays a critical role in the healthcare delivery system by performing diagnostic imaging examinations that assist physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. This position requires expertise in operating C-arms to produce high-quality images while scrubbing Cardiac Catheterization, Peripheral vascular, electrophysiologic procedures. The technologist ensures patient safety and comfort while adhering to strict radiation safety protocols and quality standards. . Ultimately, the role demands a commitment to continuous learning and adaptation to evolving imaging technologies and techniques to maintain excellence in medical imaging services.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Certification and licensure as a Radiologic Technologist in the United States (ARRT certification preferred).
  • Proven experience in performing Cardiac Catheterization Procedures, Electrophysiologic procedures and Peripheral Vascular Procedures
  • Current ACLS/BLS Certification
  • Strong knowledge of radiation safety and patient care standards.
  • Ability to operate radiologic and imaging equipment proficiently.
  • Minimal travel required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years working in a Cardiac Cath or peripheral vascular lab.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the cleanup of room following procedure to include appropriate disposal of used supplies, handling of instruments, returning and restocking of supplies. Also participates in the restocking, resupplying, and cleaning of the support areas.
  • Assists in positioning, prepping, and draping of patients for procedures. Gives patient explanations and verbal reassurances consistently
  • Sets up for procedures in a timely manner that allows the patient to come into the room 5 minutes prior to schedule start time.
  • Correctly position the patient, adjust the imaging equipment to the specified position
  • Maintains aseptic technique when opening sterile supplies, setting up procedures and during all invasive procedures
  • Operates all equipment safely and correctly. Performs preventative maintenance as needed. Ensures proper functioning prior to each procedure
  • Ability to work as a team member, assists physicians and assists the with the interpretations of data collected
  • Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors
  • Performs patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for the patient’s age
  • Assures radiation safety and monitoring and compliance with rules and regulations in accordance with the Arizona Bureau of Radiation Control within the facilities

The required skills such as radiography, X-ray operation, and medical imaging are essential for accurately capturing diagnostic images that inform patient treatment plans. Quality patient care skills ensure that patients are treated with compassion and respect, which improves cooperation and the overall imaging experience. Together, these skills enable the technologist to deliver precise, safe, and effective imaging services that support optimal healthcare outcomes.


6am start generally. 10 hour shift
PRN, 1 day per week
