Description: BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment and buildings.

REPORTS TO
  • Engineering Manager
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Supervisory Responsibilities: NO

Minimum Education: High School Diploma/GED

License/Certification Required: Valid TN Driver License

Minimum Work Experience: 2 years experience in facility maintenance to include mechanical systems preferred.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Knowledge of basic electrical and plumbing.
  • Must maintain schedule flexibility, assisting in coverage of other shifts when needed. Will be required to cover on-call in the technician rotation and respond when necessary.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Works effectively from computerized work order system and written or verbal instructions. Completes all tasks correctly and in a timely manner: Prioritizes urgency of work requests.
  • Provides correct and timely maintenance of various aspects of facility.
  • Maintains CATV cabling system throughout the facility when needed and troubleshoots the system to determine where problems or damage may have occurred. Assists the fire alarm testing company as needed to maintain facility fire alarm system.
  • Maintains HVAC system by performing preventive maintenance on equipment; changes filters, cleans coils, changes and/or inspects belts.
  • Inspects, repairs, and maintains electrical beds; replaces light bulbs; performs other minor repairs as instructed. Correctly bends and installs conduit.
  • Provides light carpentry duties: Installs shelving, and repairs windows, screens, blinds, and suspended ceilings. Installs hardware and locks as assigned.
  • Checks and repairs lighting systems accurately and in a timely manner: Obtains and replaces lamps correctly. Installs concealed wiring according to codes and procedures.
  • Maintains work area and equipment in a safe, clean and orderly condition. Operates a variety of power and hand tools correctly and following all safety measures. Follow standard and prescribed safety regulations. Assists engineering department personnel with various projects as assigned by supervisor. Assists with inclement weather demands.
  • Provides general maintenance service to facility personnel, i.e., assembles furniture and accessories.
  • Responds to all facility emergency codes in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.
  • Fosters mature professional relationships with fellow employees in a courteous, friendly, manner as measured by management observation and peer input.
  • Willingly accepts any other assignment that may be requested.
  • Utilizes hospital resources and time respectfully and accountably.
  • Accurately reflects time worked in the work order system.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Note: Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
  • Light lifting, pushing and pulling is required for 10-20 lbs occasionally and frequent moving of objects of less than 10 lbs is required. Frequent sitting with some walking, standing, squatting, bending and reaching is required. Keyboard/computer use and/or repetitive motions may be required.
