Osborne’s Workforce Development Unit is seeking an experienced Career Coach to support its Green Clean Energy project. This role is responsible for conducting community outreach and participant recruitment, screening and enrolling eligible candidates, facilitating orientations and job readiness workshops, providing ongoing case management and support, monitoring participant progress, and connecting participants to appropriate resources and referrals to support their employment and career development goals. The Career Coach will collaborate closely with the Director of Workforce and Employment Specialists. This position is based in our Brooklyn office, with occasional travel to Osborne offices in Brooklyn and the Bronx.

This position is temporary and is expected to end on or before June 30, 2027, with the possibility of extension.

Salary: $28.04- $29.67/hr

Requirements:

Essential Duties:

  • Conduct orientations for prospective participants and determine eligibility for program admission.
  • Provide individual and group counseling services to support participant goals and program outcomes.
  • Deliver comprehensive case management through regular participant meetings to assess needs, monitor progress, and coordinate support services.
  • Conduct participant screenings, intake assessments, and referrals to appropriate program and support services based on client needs.
  • Collect, review and maintain required documentation to ensure compliance with program and funding source requirements.
  • Facilitate work-readiness workshops and group sessions focused on employment preparation, including resume development, interview skills, time management, and other job-readiness skill-building activities.
  • Participate in case conferences to support participant progress, performance outcomes, and reentry needs.
  • Utilize Osborne's Salesforce database to document all activity with participants, such as case management, referrals and other group-related activities, in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with program staff to develop training opportunities to increase vocational skills.
  • Attend required training
  • In-person collaboration is an essential function of the job
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Social Work or Criminal Justice preferred; in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of three years of case management experience.
  • Minimum two years of experience in facilitating workshops including job readiness training, mock interviews, resume preparation and conducting individual and group counseling sessions

Key Competencies:

  • Engaging personality and detailed orientated skills are essential.
  • Strong oral and written communication, time management, and organizational skills are necessary.
  • Knowledge of Google Apps, MS Word, Excel, and database management skills.
  • Familiarity with community resources.
  • Ability to travel locally between Osborne Offices as needed
  • Ability to solve problems, make decisions, resolve conflicts and listen.
  • Access skills to deal calmly in crisis situations.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively well with diverse groups.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks effectively under pressure.
