This role is essential in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and integrity of background screening processes that support safe and informed hiring decisions. You will review and analyze criminal records, assess applicant eligibility, and help clients interpret screening results in alignment with federal and state regulations. Working in a fast-paced, detail-sensitive environment, you will serve as a key point of contact for clients and consumers, helping guide them through screening outcomes and next steps. The position requires strong analytical thinking, clear communication, and the ability to manage sensitive information with discretion. You will also collaborate with internal teams to resolve cases efficiently while maintaining strict service-level agreements. This is a highly regulated, impact-driven role where accuracy and compliance directly influence customer trust and operational success.
Review and analyze criminal background records to determine applicant eligibility and support client risk mitigation decisions
- Ensure accurate execution of background screening reviews in compliance with FCRA and other applicable regulations
- Communicate with clients and consumers via phone and email to explain screening results and process steps
- Provide guidance and support to stakeholders regarding background check outcomes and next actions
- Maintain timely updates on open cases and ensure adherence to defined service-level agreements
- Assist internal teams and peers with workload coordination and case resolution when needed
- Participate in training sessions and ongoing learning to maintain compliance and process knowledge
- Ensure all background screening data is reviewed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with legal standards
1+ years of experience in a detail-oriented, customer-facing, compliance, or operations role is preferred
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work accurately in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including handling sensitive or difficult conversations
- Ability to interpret and follow regulatory guidelines, including FCRA compliance standards
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet strict deadlines
- Comfortable working in high-pressure environments while maintaining professionalism and accuracy
- Ability to adapt quickly to new systems, procedures, and evolving workflows
- Experience handling sensitive information or conducting background checks is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
- Competitive hourly compensation ranging from $15.05 to $23.08 based on experience and qualifications
