Position Overview
The purpose of this position is to package finished goods for shipment according to customer specified instructions in a production warehouse environment.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
· Works to supply products and services that meet or exceed the customers’ expectations. Follows the documented quality systems and processes that are continually being improved to satisfy our customers’ needs.
· Store parts in proper warehouse location.
· Reads and understands work instructions and verifies parts against customer prints before packaging.
· Pick and pack parts in proper quantity and container.
· Maintains accurate inventory and part location system.
· Properly label boxes, skids, or other containers with shipping documents.
· Communicates with various departments in regard to moving material between work areas based on order priority, delivery of materials, and status of orders and materials.
· Moves parts and containers to staging areas for packing and shipping using forklift.
· Records number of units packed or put in warehouse inventory.
· Checks shipment requirements with bills of lading.
· Proper packaging of all materials for shipment including proper container, shrink wrap, or brown paper wrapping per customer specifications.
· Coordinates with co-workers and works in a team to gain efficiency and productivity. May direct the work of others when additional help is needed to meet deadlines.
· Use of scale to determine number of parts (if large quantity of small parts needed).
· May assist Manager or Supervisors in other duties or special projects as needed.
Requirements:Critical Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
· Communicating with Supervisors or Peers: Providing information to supervisors and co-workers by written form, or in person.
· Production and Processing: Knowledge of parts, part numbers, quality control, and export requirements for maximizing the effective and accurate distribution of goods.
· Mathematics: Knowledge of arithmetic and its application.
· Handling and Moving Objects: Using hands and arms in handling, positioning, moving and manipulating materials.
· Monitor Processes, Materials, or Surroundings: Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems.
· Safety and Security; Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective safety for the protection of people and property.
· Performing General Physical Activities: Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms, legs, and hands, gripping parts with hands, moving your entire body such as, lifting, walking, stooping, and handling of materials. Consistent visual inspection of parts.
· Controlling Machines and Processes: Using direct physical activity to operate forklift.
· Operating Vehicles, Mechanized Devices, or Equipment: Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts.
· Tools: Personal protective equipment (hard hats, safety glasses, steel-toe boots, etc.).
· Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work: Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize and accomplish your work.
· Inspecting Equipment, Structures, or Material: Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
· Making Decisions and Solving Problems: Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
Qualifications
· This particular position requires the individual to have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); at least 1-2 years of work-related experience; or a combination of education and experience.
Preferences
· Prior experience with forklifts.
· Demonstrate attention to detail.
· Previous shipping experience, pick/pack, shipping process, receiving experience.
Supervisory Responsibilities
· This position has no supervisory responsibilities but may train other warehouse coordinators or new hires in the position. May be required to direct the actions of those select employees.
Working Environment and Conditions
· Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms and be able to communicate verbally and in writing and take direction. The employee is frequently required to be in a stationary position, move about the buildings and stoop. The individual will be performing physical activities that require considerable use of the arms and legs and movement of the whole-body involving things such as lifting, balancing, moving, stooping, twisting, and handling of materials. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, operate machinery, and use eye-hand coordination.

The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and the noise level in the work environment is sometimes loud.
