Clinic Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Boone, North Carolina | Full-Time | Outpatient Clinic | Non-Exempt

Compensation: Starting at $30.00 per hour, based on education, experience, certification, and internal equity.

What You’ll Do as a Clinic Registered Nurse Patient Assessment & Clinical Care- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and obtain relevant health histories.
- Administer medications, treatments, and nursing interventions as prescribed.
- Monitor, evaluate, and document patient responses to treatment plans.
- Educate patients on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and self-care strategies.
- Support preventive care initiatives and promote healthy lifestyle practices.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Participate in developing, implementing, and evaluating individualized care plans.
- Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members to support comprehensive patient care.
- Facilitate referrals and coordinate follow-up services as needed.
- Perform clinical procedures including wound care, injections, specimen collection, and other nursing interventions.
- Assist providers during examinations and minor outpatient procedures.
- Maintain compliance with infection prevention, safety, and clinical practice standards.
- Ensure equipment and supplies are appropriately maintained and available.
- Advocate for patients’ needs, preferences, and healthcare goals.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and families.
- Assist patients in accessing community resources and support services when appropriate.
- Promote patient engagement and participation in care decisions.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation within the electronic health record (EHR).
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory standards, and nursing practice requirements.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care, safety, and clinic efficiency.
- Support efforts to improve clinical workflows and patient satisfaction.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program required.
- Previous outpatient clinic nursing experience preferred.
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of North Carolina required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required at the time of hire.
- Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Knowledge of nursing principles, clinical procedures, and patient education techniques.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and healthcare technology.
- Strong organizational, critical thinking, and time management skills.
- Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and patient-centered care.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the clinic for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity and coordination necessary for clinical procedures and patient care activities.
- Ability to lift, position, and assist patients as needed.
- Frequent bending, reaching, squatting, and movement throughout the clinical environment.
- Near visual acuity required for patient assessments, documentation, and medication administration.
- Primarily works within an outpatient clinic setting.
- Frequent interaction with patients, families, providers, and healthcare team members.
- Exposure to a variety of patient conditions, treatments, and clinical procedures.
- Fast-paced healthcare environment requiring strong collaboration and adaptability.
- Adherence to infection prevention, safety, and regulatory standards at all times.
- May require flexibility to accommodate clinic operational needs and patient schedules.
