This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a HSE Supervisor of Construction & Commissioning based in the United States.
This role is a field-focused HSE leadership position supporting complex construction and commissioning activities across large-scale energy and infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for ensuring the consistent application of health, safety, and environmental standards across all phases of project execution, from planning and mobilization through commissioning and demobilization. The position plays a key role in reinforcing a strong safety culture in high-risk environments while ensuring full regulatory and client compliance. You will work closely with project teams, contractors, and field supervisors to proactively identify hazards and drive safe work execution. The role combines hands-on field presence with incident prevention, training, and compliance oversight. It is ideal for a safety professional who thrives in dynamic project-based environments and is motivated by protecting people and critical infrastructure.
- Oversee and support the implementation of site-specific HSE plans, including safety management plans, job safety analyses, emergency response procedures, and environmental protection measures across all project phases.
- Conduct regular field inspections, audits, and risk assessments to ensure compliance with internal standards, client requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Support safe execution of high-risk activities such as lifting operations, electrical work, confined space entry, hazardous material handling, and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Ensure environmental compliance on construction sites, including spill prevention, waste management, and protection of surrounding environments.
- Participate in incident investigations, including data collection, root cause analysis, and development of corrective and preventive actions.
- Deliver and support HSE training initiatives such as orientations, toolbox talks, safety campaigns, and behavior-based safety programs.
- Act as a key liaison between field teams, contractors, project management, HSE leadership, and clients to ensure alignment on safety expectations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying risks, sharing lessons learned, and supporting enhanced safety performance across projects.
- Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Certifications such as CHST, ASP, or OSHA 500 are considered strong assets.
- 3–7 years of experience in HSE roles within construction, commissioning, heavy industry, or energy sector environments.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA construction standards and field safety systems such as SSMPs and JSAs.
- Solid understanding of environmental compliance requirements, including waste handling and spill prevention controls.
- Proven ability to work effectively in fast-paced, multi-site or project-based environments with strong field presence.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence safe behaviors across diverse teams.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills in dynamic field conditions.
