Job Description
The Project Technician position is designed for experienced telecommunications professionals with 5+ years of industry experience who have demonstrated exceptional technical ability, leadership potential, and a commitment to quality. This role is a promotion from Installer II and serves as a key technical resource on the jobsite.
Project Technicians are trusted to complete complex installations, troubleshoot technical issues, coordinate daily field activities, and assist project leadership in delivering successful projects. While this position does not have direct supervisory authority, Project Technicians are expected to lead by example, mentor less experienced employees, and help maintain CCCI's high standards for safety, quality, and customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities-
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Independently install, terminate, test, certify, and troubleshoot copper, fiber optic, and low-voltage systems.
Interpret blueprints, specifications, riser diagrams, and project documentation to ensure accurate installation.
Coordinate daily work assignments with the Foreman or Superintendent to support project schedules and milestones.
Provide technical guidance and on-the-job training to Installer I and Installer II team members.
Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with customer specifications, industry standards, and CCCI quality expectations.
Troubleshoot installation challenges and recommend solutions to minimize project delays.
Assist with material verification, inventory management, and jobsite logistics.
Accurately complete project documentation, testing records, redline drawings, and daily reports.
Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and customer requirements.
Build and maintain positive working relationships with customers, subcontractors, inspectors, and fellow employees.
Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles in a clean and serviceable condition.
Perform additional duties as assigned by project leadership.
Education & Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED.
5+ years of experience in telecommunications, structured cabling, fiber optics, or commercial construction.
Demonstrated ability to independently complete complex installations.
Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings and project specifications.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Ability to pass customer-required background checks and drug testing, when applicable.
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification
Fiber optic termination and testing experience
Fluke certification or experience using cable certification equipment
Scissor Lift and Boom Lift Certification
CPR/First Aid Certification
Experience coordinating small crews or leading portions of projects

Perform repetitive hand movements requiring manual dexterity.

Dust, noise, vibration, and moving equipment

Employees are expected to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and comply with all company and customer safety requirements.

Full-Time
Monday through Friday
