Head of SEO in Saint Julian's at Paradise Media LLC

Paradise Media is a privately owned media company with a global portfolio of sports and iGaming brands.

About the role

We're hiring a hands-on Head of SEO to lead the strategy and long-term growth of one of our flagship sites.

You'll set priorities, allocate resources and lead the SEO managers and specialists contributing to the site while remaining close to implementation and results. You'll work directly with the CEO and leadership team, with a real voice in strategy and investment decisions.

The role is based in our Balluta Bay office in Malta, right on the water, with panoramic sea views and a full-size private gym.

What you'll do

• Take responsibility for the complete SEO lifecycle of one flagship site, including rankings, traffic quality, revenue contribution and long-term resilience.
• Define and evolve the site's SEO strategy, aligned with commercial goals.
• Allocate people, development time, content support and testing budget across competing priorities.
• Set clear standards for technical work, content, measurement and quality checks across the people contributing to the site.
• Help hire, develop and organise the SEO managers and specialists contributing to the site.
• Improve the judgement and independence of the team rather than becoming the approval point for every decision.
• Lead technical SEO with developers, including crawling, indexing, Core Web Vitals, site architecture, internal linking and migrations.
• Manage SEO risk during launches, migrations and major structural changes, and respond calmly to algorithm updates or competitive pressure.
• Set how the team uses AI and automation, including where they improve speed, where human review is essential and how quality is measured.
• Work with leadership on roadmap, budget and investment decisions, and share useful methods with the wider SEO team.

What we're looking for

• At least four years of hands-on SEO with clear responsibility for substantial sites and a track record of leading people.
• Proven experience growing sites in iGaming or another competitive search market.
• Strong experience with large-site architecture, technical SEO and complex migrations.
• Examples of allocating limited people, development time or budget across competing SEO priorities.
• A track record of improving the judgement and independence of SEO managers or specialists.
• Strong commercial judgement and a clear understanding of how SEO decisions affect revenue.
• Experience introducing AI or automation into real workflows, with clear standards for quality and review.
• Calm decision-making during traffic drops, algorithm updates or major launches.
• Based in Malta or willing to relocate, and able to work from the Saint Julian's office full-time.

Useful, but not essential

• Experience growing sites across multiple languages or categories.
• Experience owning a meaningful budget or contributing to investment decisions.
• Experience hiring and developing SEO managers.
• Basic scripting or technical implementation experience.

What success looks like after six months

You have established clear priorities for the flagship site, improved how resources are allocated, raised the quality of decision-making across the team and shipped the first major growth initiatives.
