POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a Survey Technician to provide surveying and construction layout support for utility and industrial projects. The ideal candidate will have experience with survey equipment and CAD software or a strong desire to learn and advance within the surveying profession.

Responsibilities:

  • Recording survey measurements and descriptive data using notes, drawings, sketches, and inked tracings
  • Perform survey calculations
  • Travel to various jobsites to obtain necessary survey data and jobsite information
  • Prepare CAD mapping using varying applications
  • Compile information necessary to stake projects for construction, using engineering plans
  • Field survey client assets and operate various equipment from different manufacturers including Trimble
  • Scheduling and communicating workload status to Project Manager in order to meet all deadlines
  • Perform boundary staking to establish or re-establish boundary lines
  • Operate and use GPS surveying equipment
  • Perform layout work competently and accurately as specified by the Project Manager
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by management

Competencies

  • Familiarity in CAD and Civil 3D programs
  • Experience with field data collection
  • Self- motivated, have strong imitative and desire to learn and advance in the survey profession
  • Strong math and logical reasoning skills
  • Ability to understand land access and ROW acquisition issues
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to organize work, engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines

Benefits and Compensation:

Position offers competitive pay, benefits, paid vacation, and health/dental insurance.

Full-time: $23.08 - $31.25 hourly, based on experience and qualifications.
