Job Description

Who We Are

For over 37 years, Power Dry has been a trusted leader in water damage restoration throughout the Kansas City metro area, delivering fast, reliable service when homeowners need it most. Now, Power Dry is expanding into North Carolina, bringing the same commitment to quality, customer service, and doing what we say we will do to a new market.

Position Overview

Power Dry is seeking an experienced In-Home Sales Specialist to help launch and grow our new North Carolina location.

This is a unique player-coach opportunity for someone who is first and foremost a strong in-home sales professional, but who is also ready to take on additional leadership and ownership as we establish the Power Dry brand in a new market.

You will personally meet with homeowners following water damage and other property losses, assess their needs, develop the appropriate scope of work, present solutions, and close work authorizations. You'll receive pre-qualified, pre-scheduled appointments, so there is no cold calling.

Because this is a new location, you'll also serve as a key local leader—working alongside field technicians, helping maintain operational and customer service standards, supporting local market growth, and partnering with company leadership as the team expands.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being hands-on, takes ownership, leads by example, and is excited by the opportunity to sell, lead, and help build a new market from the ground up.

What You'll Do

In-Home Sales & Customer Experience

  • Meet with homeowners for pre-qualified, company-provided in-home appointments.
  • Assess property damage and determine the appropriate scope of work.
  • Provide professional estimates and recommend solutions based on the homeowner's needs.
  • Build trust quickly and confidently close work authorizations during the initial visit.
  • Guide homeowners through the mitigation and restoration process with empathy, clarity, and professionalism.
  • Communicate effectively with homeowners, insurance carriers, field crews, and company leadership.
  • Respond with urgency to new opportunities, including responding within one hour of receiving notice of a new job.
  • Complete and process required job documentation accurately and on time.
  • Use company systems, technology, mobile applications, and job management software to manage customer and job information.

Player-Coach Leadership & Local Operations

  • Serve as a hands-on local leader and help establish Power Dry's culture, expectations, and service standards in the North Carolina market.
  • Work closely with field technicians to ensure a seamless transition from the initial homeowner consultation and sale through mitigation services.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching, and support to local field team members while leading by example.
  • Help maintain high standards for customer experience, job quality, safety, documentation, equipment readiness, and overall field execution.
  • Assist with coordinating local priorities and communicating field needs with company leadership.
  • Help onboard and support new team members as the location grows.
  • Partner with leadership to identify opportunities to improve local performance, customer experience, and operational efficiency.
  • Take ownership of the success of the local market while remaining actively involved in day-to-day sales and customer interactions.

Market Growth

  • Help establish and grow Power Dry's presence throughout the local North Carolina market.
  • Develop relationships with local referral partners, including plumbers, insurance professionals, property managers, and other home service providers.
  • Identify opportunities to generate additional referral relationships and organic lead volume.
  • Represent Power Dry professionally within the local community.
  • Partner with company leadership as the territory grows and additional team members are added.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role will be measured by both individual sales performance and the overall success of the new market, including:

  • Strong in-home sales conversion and revenue production.
  • Exceptional homeowner experience and customer satisfaction.
  • Consistent job quality, documentation, and operational execution.
  • Effective communication and collaboration between sales and field operations.
  • Development of a strong, accountable local team.
  • Growth of Power Dry's presence and referral relationships within the market.

Qualifications

  • Proven sales experience, preferably in an in-home or consultative sales environment.
  • Experience in water mitigation, restoration, construction, or another residential home service industry strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience leading, coaching, training, or mentoring others preferred.
  • Strong ability to build rapport quickly and confidently guide homeowners toward a decision.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Comfortable working with homeowners experiencing stressful or urgent property damage situations.
  • Self-motivated, organized, adaptable, and capable of working independently.
  • Strong sense of ownership with the ability to balance personal sales responsibilities with broader team and market needs.
  • Comfortable using technology, mobile applications, job management platforms, and other business systems.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and excitement about helping build a new location from the ground up.
  • Positive, team-oriented approach with a willingness to lead by example.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed, including some holidays.
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation that may include nights and weekends.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to meet the physical and field requirements associated with working in active residential restoration environments.

Benefits

  • Choice of 4 medical plans, including one option at $0 payroll cost for the employee
  • FSA medical and dependent spending accounts
  • HSA available with high-deductible medical plan
  • Vision insurance
  • Choice of 2 dental plans
  • Company-paid short-term and long-term disability
  • Company-paid $25,000 life insurance
  • 401(k) with company matching
  • Ancillary benefits, including hospital, critical illness, and accident coverage
  • Paid time off and holidays

Build Something With Us

This isn't just an opportunity to step into an established sales territory. You'll have the opportunity to help build Power Dry's North Carolina presence from the ground up while continuing to do what you do best—meeting homeowners, earning their trust, and closing business.

If you're a strong sales professional who wants more ownership, enjoys helping others succeed, and is excited by the opportunity to play a key role in growing a new market, we'd like to hear from you.
