Job Description

Loan Conversion Specialist

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Loan Conversion Specialist based in United States.

This is a fully remote, technical and data-focused role supporting loan origination software implementations and customer data conversions.
You’ll play a critical behind-the-scenes role in ensuring loan data is accurately mapped, transformed, validated, and loaded into the target platform.
The position combines lending domain knowledge with hands-on SQL, structured data analysis, troubleshooting, and systems integration.
You’ll investigate data discrepancies, configuration issues, and integration failures while working closely with implementation, product, support, and engineering teams.
Your work will directly contribute to successful testing, go-live activities, and reliable post-conversion operations.
This opportunity is well suited to a detail-oriented professional who enjoys solving complex data problems and turning technical findings into practical solutions.

Accountabilities
  • Support data conversion and technical implementation activities for loan origination software deployments.
  • Review source data from core banking systems, loan origination platforms, and third-party vendors, identifying missing information, formatting issues, and inconsistencies.
  • Map source fields to standardized target-system conversion specifications and validate field-level requirements before loading data.
  • Use SQL to review, reconcile, validate, and transform loan data and investigate rejected, missing, or incorrectly translated records.
  • Analyze CSV, fixed-width, XML, JSON, and other structured data formats to identify and resolve data-quality issues.
  • Review system and integration logs to troubleshoot configuration, connectivity, and data-flow problems.
  • Support file-based and API-driven integrations in collaboration with implementation, product, support, and engineering teams.
  • Assist with data transformations, supplemental file processing, field translations, and loan account number changes.
  • Use SQL, Python, or other scripting tools to improve the efficiency, consistency, and accuracy of recurring conversion activities.
  • Participate in testing, data validation, user acceptance testing, go-live support, and post-conversion issue resolution.
  • Maintain detailed documentation covering data mappings, conversion decisions, validation results, issues, root causes, and resolutions.
  • Communicate technical findings clearly to customers and internal stakeholders when additional information or action is required.
  • Develop a strong working knowledge of the loan origination platform, its data requirements, integration capabilities, and associated workflows.
  • Manage assigned conversion activities across multiple implementations while adapting to changing priorities.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in data conversion, technical implementation, systems integration, banking operations, fintech, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of loan origination processes, including application, evaluation, approval, documentation, closing, and funding.
  • Hands-on SQL experience involving data review, validation, reconciliation, or transformation.
  • Experience working with structured data formats such as CSV, fixed-width, XML, and JSON.
  • Understanding of source-to-target mapping, field-level transformation, data validation, and exception handling.
  • Ability to interpret system and integration logs to identify technical issues and determine root causes.
  • Experience reviewing system configurations and diagnosing data-flow, formatting, or connectivity problems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to data accuracy and detail.
  • Excellent documentation, organization, follow-through, and task-management skills.
  • Ability to explain technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with customers and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple assignments, and adapt to changing priorities in a remote environment.
  • Experience supporting loan origination systems or other lending technologies is preferred.
  • Experience with core banking system conversions, financial institution data, or lending integrations is a plus.
  • Familiarity with file-based and API-driven integration methods is preferred.
  • Experience using Python or another scripting language for data analysis, validation, or automation is advantageous.
  • Exposure to data migration, data quality, or conversion reconciliation processes is beneficial.
  • An educational background in computer science, information systems, data analytics, finance, banking, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
Benefits
  • Competitive compensation based on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
  • Eligibility for incentive awards tied to individual and business performance.
  • Comprehensive employee benefits package.
  • Fully remote work arrangement.
  • Opportunity to work on technically challenging lending and financial technology implementations.
  • Cross-functional exposure to implementation, product, support, engineering, and customer-facing teams.
  • Opportunity to develop expertise in loan origination technology, data conversion, systems integration, SQL, and automation.
  • Meaningful role in helping financial institutions successfully adopt and operate modern lending technology.
