SLP is currently accepting applications for a Staff Attorney. The salary range for this position is $85,000-$100,000 annually, with professional satisfaction assured and career growth opportunities.

Requirements:

Join our nonprofit law firm and make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors age 60+ by providing free legal services to those in need. As a Staff Attorney, you will work directly with older adults, advising and counseling clients on a range of legal issues, including elder abuse and exploitation, wrongful discharge from care facilities, evictions, consumer fraud, and advance planning matters such as powers of attorney. In collaboration with the Supervising Attorney and legal team, you will manage cases, draft legal documents, negotiate settlements, represent clients in court when necessary, and maintain accurate records to support grant-funded programs. This role is ideal for a compassionate, client-focused attorney who is passionate about advocating for the rights, dignity, and well-being of older adults.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should hold a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school, with three years or more of experience practicing law (elder law and consumer matters a plus), a current license in good standing (State Bar of Nevada preferred), and sensitivity to the needs of the senior community. Bilingual candidates are highly encouraged. Additional qualifications include:

• Competency in Microsoft applications including Word and Outlook

• Experience with a case management system, such as LegalServer or equivalent

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Ability to demonstrate initiative, organization, cooperation, flexibility, and creativity

• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems both independently and collaboratively

• Ability to effectively supervise, support, and give direction to designated staff members
