The Maintenance Technician reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and works closely with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues that impact daily operations. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment and facility systems throughout the Peet’s Coffee roasting plant to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
The Maintenance Technician is expected to demonstrate strong teamwork, reliability, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and productive work environment. Regular and dependable attendance is an essential function of the role.
Schedule: This position works Monday- Friday, 1st shift, 4:00am-12:30pm
Hourly Wage: $32-45/hour
What You Will Do:
Perform preventive maintenance on all plant equipment according to the maintenance schedule.
Diagnose and repair filling and assembly lines as needed.
Interpret and utilize system error messages on related equipment.
Understand roasting equipment operation which includes the operation of HMIs.
Be able to work on bag slitters and pallet lifter.
Perform diagnosis and repairs on hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Read and interpret electrical diagrams as per equipment repairs and diagnosis.
Possess the ability to use and understand multimeters.
Repair facilities related items, doors, dock levelers, lights, ballasts, sinks, drains, and general grounds maintenance.
Assists with roasting equipment maintenance which will require the ability to work on ladders and use basic hand and power tools.
Perform and assist in line change over and setups.
Who You Are:
3–5 years of experience in industrial maintenance; experience in food manufacturing or packaging is preferred.
Strong electro-mechanical aptitude, with the ability to troubleshoot and maintain mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and related equipment.
Self-starter who is organized, dependable, and able to work independently while also being a strong team player.
Bilingual skills are a plus.
Boiler experience is helpful.
Comfortable using computers for accurate data entry, accessing equipment manuals, and documenting maintenance activities.
Experience using a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) or the ability and willingness to learn one.
Communicates clearly and effectively with diverse stakeholders and partners.
Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; adaptable and responsive to changing business needs.
Must be flexible and able to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends, as well as occasional overtime.
