Job Description

Description:

About GondolaBio

GondolaBio is a standalone rare disease innovator, formed as a spin-out from BridgeBio, with independent governance, capital, and leadership. GondolaBio is focused on developing breakthrough therapeutics for diseases with genetically defined targets. The portfolio includes several clinical-stage programs, with growing franchises across genetic specialties, neurology, and renal. The company leverages cutting-edge biological research to discover, create, test, and deliver transformative medicines to treat patients, with a purpose-built discovery and development engine. The company is well capitalized, with funding from leading investors.

Who You Are

You are a strategic scientific storyteller who builds conviction through evidence and insight. You bring unusual depth in biology, market dynamics, product strategy, and investor or partner psychology. You can shape the overarching company story and narrative, define differentiated asset value propositions, and help create understanding of entirely new treatment categories. You are a strategic thinker first and an exceptional communicator second: able to challenge assumptions, develop original positioning, and translate complex science into credible, compelling external narratives. You are comfortable working across a decentralized portfolio and directing specialist communications resources as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Corporate and integrated portfolio positioning: Own and continuously refine GondolaBio’s overarching strategic and investment narrative, connecting its differentiated development model, therapeutic franchises, portfolio, and value-creation milestones into one coherent external story.

Asset-level value propositions: Partner with program leaders to develop scientifically grounded, commercially compelling narratives covering unmet need, genetics and biology, patient populations, clinical and regulatory path, competitive differentiation, commercial potential, and key evidence gaps.

New-market development and category shaping: Help define the opportunity for innovative or emerging programs through care pathways, stakeholder insights, evidence requirements, and market-development hypotheses. Work with program teams to define stakeholder engagement along the patient journey.

External stakeholder insight: Structure and synthesize insights from industry partners, investors, KOLs, and external market participants to sharpen positioning, test assumptions, and inform evolving program and franchise strategies, consistent with appropriate scientific and compliance processes.

Partner- and investor-facing materials: Lead corporate, franchise, and asset presentations, pitch decks, executive briefing materials, and other high-stakes content. Adapt the investment case to audiences ranging from potential development partners to investors, without compromising scientific precision.

Conference and signature-event narratives: Define strategic themes and lead substantive content for priority conferences (JPM, Jefferies, BIO, and disease-specific meetings) and curated GondolaBio events (and liaise with shared teams/external providers as needed).

Corporate identity and external communications: Steward message consistency across the website, targeted media, executive communications, digital channels, and external agencies. Set editorial and strategic direction, leveraging external specialist support.

AI-enabled content and insight workflows: Apply advanced AI and digital tools to literature and competitor synthesis, message testing, scientific-content development, and efficient updating of materials, with strong fact-checking, source traceability, and confidentiality practices.

Cross-functional integration: Work closely with program teams, Business Development, Corporate Strategy, and leadership. Use shared scientific and market evidence while owning the narrative and positioning outputs; contribute to cross-functional program and partnering forums.

Requirements:

Preferred Education & Experience

  • Advanced scientific degree (e.g., Ph.D., M.D., PharmD) or equivalent scientific depth; strong strategic and commercial fluency is essential.
  • Approximately 8+ years in biopharma portfolio/product strategy, new-product planning, life-sciences consulting, healthcare equity research, investor relations, strategic scientific communications, or related roles; demonstrated capability matters more than tenure.
  • Exceptional ability to understand complex biology and build clear, persuasive, differentiated narratives for sophisticated industry and investor audiences.
  • Demonstrated original strategic thinking about disease markets, product positioning, clinical-commercial evidence, and value creation, not only presentation production.
  • Hands-on experience creating high-impact partner/investor materials and supporting senior executives in external interactions.
  • Ability to synthesize stakeholder and market insights and work effectively with scientific, commercial, and corporate teams.
  • Comfort using AI, digital research, and advanced content tools with strict scientific verification and appropriate confidentiality in a lean, fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience in rare and genetic diseases.
  • First-in-class product planning, new-market development, or category creation experience.
  • Exposure to equity research or corporate investor narratives and major biopharma conferences.
  • Relevant networks among investors, strategic partners, KOLs, or patient organizations.

No matter your role at GondolaBio, successful team members are

  • Patient Champions who put patients first, uphold strict ethical standards, and anchor decisions in clinical and scientific integrity.
  • Entrepreneurial Operators who take ownership and drive toward practical solutions, while exercising sound judgment, respecting established processes, and aligning with teammates and leadership.
  • Truth Seekers who are rigorous, detail-oriented, and intellectually honest—comfortable challenging assumptions, engaging with data, and updating their views based on evidence.
  • Collaborative Thinkers who work effectively in data-driven, interdisciplinary environments; listen actively; and welcome questions, debate, and constructive challenge as essential to better decision-making.
  • Individuals Who Inspire Excellence in themselves and those around them.
  • High-quality Executors who deliver against goals and milestones with precision, accountability, and appropriate urgency—without compromising scientific rigor or team alignment.

What We Offer

  • Patient Days, where we are fortunate to hear directly from individuals living with the conditions we are seeking to impact throughout the year and learn how we can improve our efforts
  • A culture inspired by our values: put patients first, think independently, be radically transparent, every minute counts, and let the science speak
  • An unyielding commitment to always putting patients first
  • A decentralized model that enables our program teams to focus on advancing science and helping patients. Our affiliate structure is designed to eliminate bureaucracy and put decision-making power in the hands of those closest to the science
  • A place where you own the vision – both for your program and your own career path
  • A collaborative, fast-paced, data-driven environment where we inspire ourselves and each other to always perform at the top of our game
  • Access to learning and development resources to help you get in the best professional shape of your life
  • Robust and market-competitive compensation & benefits package (Base, Performance Bonus, Equity, health, welfare & retirement programs)
  • Flexible PTO
  • Rapid career advancement for strong performers
  • Potential ability to work on multiple GondolaBio Pharma programs across multiple therapeutic areas over time
  • Commitment to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
