QUALITY CONTROL INSPECTOR I

OVERVIEW

Responsible for inspecting materials, components, assemblies and product lines to ensure company quality standards are upheld. Reports findings to appropriate staff for record-keeping and to begin any corrections.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Inspects various materials, components, assemblies and our production lines, as assigned for conformance to requirements.
  • Conducts first article, in process, and final inspection of components, assemblies and final product to ensure product meet quality requirements and drawing specifications.
  • Completes line or process audits as necessary to ensure product quality and conformity to specifications.
  • Completes necessary paperwork and enters appropriate information into computer databases.
  • Prepares and distributes inspection reports as required to meet requirements.
  • Serves on related committees and participates in meetings as required.
  • Actively supports the defined goals and objectives of the company.
  • Projects a professional, total-quality image in all aspects of this position.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or as judgment or necessity dictates.


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years relevant experience.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical functions
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Must be capable of using basic dimensional inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, etc., as well as electronic test equipment such as multi-meters, oscilloscopes, etc.
  • Experience with advanced inspection equipment is required.
  • Computer literate in a Windows environment using PCs, Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
  • Able to comply with company attendance standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good oral and written business communication skills.  

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Up to 10% travel may be required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, employees may be required to walk for prolonged periods of time, frequently bending, climbing, rotating, squatting, reaching, kneeling, or stooping, lifting up to 25 pounds, and periods of computer use.

Employees may be frequently exposed to heat/cold, heights, gases, vibration, dust, chemicals, odors, dampness, fumes, and noises.
