Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
The primary role involves overseeing the administration and directing he work of the Leadership Development, Advocacy and Ag Based Experiences, and National Officer Management departs within the Programs and Events division at the National FFA Organization. The role encompasses leading strategic initiatives for the organization. The role will assist with cultivating sponsor/donor relationships and overseeing the process and procedure for managing event-specifics.
Oversees the evaluation and revision process to ensure program alignment with industry standards and relevance is also a key responsibility. This entails collaborating closely with other directors and managers within the Programs and Events division. Collaboration with other teams within the organization is essential to ensure seamless delivery of programs and activities at the national level.
The position includes managing personnel, providing support, coaching, conducting performance reviews, and facilitating professional development for staff members. The role requires expertise and leadership in specific educational programs and projects and overseeing program-specific and departmental budgetary responsibilities. Serve as a member of the Senior Management Team to provide strategic direction for the overall organization.
Requirements:ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Leadership and Management:
- Provide leadership and direction to the Leadership Development, Advocacy and Ag Based Experiences, and National Officer Management teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
- Mentor and develop team members, empowering them to achieve individual and collective goals.
- Lead by example, demonstrating integrity, professionalism, and accountability in all interactions.
- Guide the team through organizational changes, adapting strategies and processes to ensure smooth transitions.
- Strategy Development and Implementation:
- Collaborate with executive leadership to develop strategic initiatives and goals aligned with the organization's overall objectives.
- Drive the implementation of strategic plans within the Leadership Development, Advocacy and Ag Based Experiences, and National Officer Management teams, ensuring alignment with company-wide strategies and priorities.
- Monitor industry trends and market developments to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Operational Excellence:
- Oversee the operations of the Leadership Development, Advocacy and Ag Based Experiences, and National Officer Management teams, optimizing processes and workflows for efficiency and effectiveness.
- Establish and monitor key metrics to track progress towards goals and objectives.
- Continuously evaluate and improve operational practices to drive innovation and quality improvement.
- Make informed decisions that align with organizational goals and priorities, considering input from team members when appropriate.
- Manage vendor relationships and write proposals.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Serve as a key liaison between the Leadership Development, Advocacy and Ag Based Experiences, and National Officer Management teams and other departments, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across the organization.
- Cultivate strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, partners, and vendors, to drive positive outcomes and mutually beneficial partnerships.
- Budget and Resource Management:
- Develop and manage budgets for the Leadership Development, Advocacy and Ag Based Experiences, and National Officer Management teams, ensuring responsible allocation of resources and adherence to financial targets.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements while maintaining high standards of quality and service delivery.
- Driving logistical coordination to bolster revenue growth through project/program planning and execution
- Performance Management:
- Monitor team performance, provide constructive feedback, and implement strategies to enhance the productivity and effectiveness of team members.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, assess individual and team achievements, and identify areas for improvement.
- Support the professional growth of team members through coaching, training, and mentoring opportunities.
- Leadership Development, Advocacy and Ag Based Experiences, and National Officer Management Teams:
- Lead program evaluation and revision cycles and procedures.
- Lead strategy for management of historical program data and development of additional data assets for organizational programs.
- Oversee multiple projects related to Leadership Development, Advocacy and Ag Based Experiences, and National Officer Management teams.
- Develop, manage, lead, and enforce program policies, processes, and procedures for multiple program areas.
- Provide support and technical assistance to Leadership Development, Advocacy and Ag Based Experiences, and National Officer Management teams.
- Fulfill additional assigned duties as required.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree (e.g., MA, MS, JD, PhD) preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- Eight years of relevant experience in educational content development, instructional design, and programmatic assessments/evaluation, with a proven track record of planning and execution.
- Five years of management/supervisory experience required.
- Experience as a classroom educator or facilitator required.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others to achieve excellence.
- Exceptional organizational and project management abilities, with keen attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, vendors, and team members.
- Proficiency in award and recognition tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Agricultural Education and FFA experience required.
