As we continue to grow across Texas, we are seeking a Brand Manager to help lead marketing initiatives, support brand growth, and drive customer engagement across our cafés, e-commerce channels, and loyalty platforms.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work directly alongside the VP of Sales & Marketing and gain hands-on experience across brand strategy, customer marketing, retail marketing, e-commerce, loyalty, product innovation, and business leadership.
We are looking for an emerging marketing leader who combines strong marketing fundamentals with a high level of comfort working within modern marketing systems and technology platforms.
Position Overview
The Brand Manager will help develop and execute marketing programs that strengthen the Merit Coffee brand, drive customer engagement, and business growth.
This role bridges both strategic marketing and operational execution. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable building marketing plans, analyzing business performance, managing projects, and working directly within marketing platforms and systems.
Because Merit operates with a lean and highly collaborative team structure, this position requires a hands-on approach. The successful candidate will be expected to develop proficiency across many of the systems and processes that support marketing execution.
The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, highly organized, technologically adaptable, and excited to grow into increasing levels of responsibility over time.
Key Responsibilities
Brand Management & Strategy
Support the development and execution of annual marketing plans, promotional calendars, and growth initiatives.
Assist in identifying customer insights, market trends, and competitive opportunities.
Support product launches, seasonal campaigns, and customer loyalty acquisition programs.
Participate in strategic planning and long-term brand development efforts.
Manage relationships with external agency partners, ensuring work is aligned with brand objectives, timelines, and budgets.
Creative design oversight across digital, print, in-store and social media management.
Marketing Systems & Digital Platforms
Develop working expertise across the marketing technology stack, including Shopify, loyalty & online ordering platforms, SMS and email marketing platforms, and analytics tools.
Support management of e-commerce content, product listings, promotions, and customer communication platforms.
Ensure marketing systems, customer-facing content, and campaign assets remain accurate and up to date.
Identify opportunities to improve marketing workflows, reporting, and operational processes.
Campaign Development & Execution
Coordinate cross-functional marketing projects from concept through implementation.
Partner with café operations teams to execute seasonal promotions and local marketing initiatives.
Collaborate with creative partners, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time and on brand.
Monitor campaign performance and prepare recommendations for future improvements.
Leadership Development
Learn and apply advanced brand management principles, marketing strategy, consumer behavior, and business planning methodologies.
Develop proficiency in marketing operations and systems management.
Build the skills necessary to lead future marketing initiatives, projects, and team members.
Required Qualifications
Current or recent experience as an Assistant Brand Manager, Brand Manager, Marketing Manager, or similar marketing leadership role.
Experience planning and executing marketing campaigns from concept through implementation.
Demonstrated ability to learn new software platforms and technologies quickly. Shopify experience is a plus but not required,
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
High attention to detail and commitment to executional excellence.
Highly Preferred Qualifications
Advanced experience with Shopify administration and e-commerce operations.
Experience with loyalty and customer engagement platforms.
Experience with email and SMS marketing systems. (ex. Attentive, Klavio, Mailchimp, etc.)
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite. Specifically, Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.
Experience analyzing marketing performance and customer data.
Experience supporting multi-location businesses.
